EMT Paramedic Lead , Afghanistan

Job Summary

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1) Provides medical care to ill or injured employees in accordance with clinic operating procedures.
2) Due to limited care in Afghanistan, this position may be required to execute “medical evacuation” procedures as
necessary. Assesses patient health by interviewing patients; performing physical examinations; obtaining,
updating, and studying medical histories.

3) Determines abnormal conditions by evaluation of patient and observing clinical signs/symptoms.
4) Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
5) Performs therapeutic procedures by administering injections and immunizations; suturing; managing wounds
and infections.
6) May perform duties associated with Case Management.
7) Instructs and counsels patients by describing therapeutic regimens; promoting wellness and health
maintenance.
8) Provides continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans.
9) Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
10) Determines fit for duty in accordance with the Department of Defense requirements for civilian contractors
deploying with US forces.
11) Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
12) Complies with protocols set in place by the Medical Director, ensuring not to provide medical care and/or
advice beyond scope of practice.
13) Ensures documentation is accurate, legible and timely
14) May attend meetings to report statistical data related to clinic operations.
15) Ensures strict compliance to safety practices and support the AC FIRST Safety Policies and Procedures.
16) Instills a safety first mentality within respective work areas and a culture that achieves low accident rates and
minimal lost-time injuries.
17) Adheres to ISO Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions in support of the AC FIRST Quality Management
System.
18) Performs other duties as assigned.


Minimum Requirements

US Citizen

Clearance Required:
a) NACI /Tier 1 for US Citizens
Certification & License:
a) Certified EMT-Paramedic, is required
b) Advanced EMT-Paramedic License or equivalent preferred
c) EMT-License with no prior or current suspense, is required
Education:
a) High School diploma or equivalent, is required.
Experience:
a) A minimum of 5 years clinic experience performing EMT-Paramedic duties, is required
Specialized knowledge and skills:
a) EMT-Paramedic skills is required
