The role:
You will provide Paramedical Pre-Hospital Care to employees, and minimise risk in the workplace by actively promoting and monitoring safety in the capacity as the Health & Safety Advisor. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Attend prestart meetings to promote Health & Safety awareness across site
- Contribute to a safe and healthy working environment through an understanding of contemporary human resource management policies and practices.
- Demonstrate expert knowledge and skills in order to generate and promote a positive health and safety culture.
- Commit to maintaining health, safety and security standards and principles, both within own workplace and through the identification of potential risks throughout Evolution.
- Actively support the development and maintenance of the site Safety Health Management System.
- Maintain the site hazardous substance register.
- Provide mentoring and training to site safety representative so that a high quality of safety is maintained.
- Delivery of Health & Safety Training as identified in competency profiles across site
- Deliver site inductions as required.
- Maintain required safety records ensuring consistency with site standard requirements.
- Assist in all areas of Return to Work Coordination.
- Maintain a positive attitude towards safety in the workplace and increase safety awareness, implement safety training and promotions and set an example for others.
- Diploma in Paramedical Science or equivalent
- QLD Ambulance Service Advanced Care Paramedic Level 2 or equivalent is desired
- Current Certificate of Clinical Paramedic Practice
- Strong communicator in both written and oral
- Excellent problem solving
- Experience in Workplace Health and Safety
- Proven commitment to safe working practices at all times
- Experience within a site based role is essential.
