Overview

Amec Foster Wheeler is currently recruiting for a Medical Services Manager with significant Oil & Gas or Petrochemical

experience to provide governance of the Project Health and Emergency Medical programs to ensure compliance with Ministry of Health, Company and Project requirements.

Project Summary:

The Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) is implementing a major project, the Clean Fuel Project (CFP) which comprises the upgrade of two existing refineries. The Clean Fuels Project is a major upgrade and expansion of the existing Mina Al-Ahmadi (MAA) and Mina Abdullah (MAB) refineries. The objective is to increase the overall throughput by 264,000 bpsd to 800,000 bpsd and to increase conversion of fuel oil to higher value products to meet expected market demand and specs for low sulphur content transport fuels. The overall project value is approximately 14-15 billion US dollars. 

Responsibilities

• Provide advice to project on best practice for medical and occupational health management
• Manage the medical function for PMC including pre-employment and periodical medicals
• Develop fitness to work and health/wellbeing programs
• Oversee EPC Contractors Medical Services Contractor and Medical Co-ordinators
• Undertake audits of Project medical facilities, medical provisions and Medical Services Contractors
• Inspect work site medical facilities and resources
• Participate in and provide advice to incident investigations as required
• Participate in medical emergency evacuation exercises
• Liaise with Company and Ministry of Health medical bodies as applicable
• Liaise with PMC third party medical provider
• Maintaining key performance indicators

Qualifications

• Whilst not a practicing role, medical qualifications of at least SRN/SEN or Paramedic level is preferable
• Degree qualification is preferred

• Minimum 10 years medical management experience in oil & gas, construction project related environments
• Prior experience of working in a medical support role in remote locations
• Experience of managing contracts for medical support services
• Excellent communications skills both written and verbal
• Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
• Previous Middle East experience an advantage
