Industrial Hygiene Advisor , Kazakhstan

Job Accountabilities:
Under the direction of the Health Services Manager, the job holder is responsible for:
Co-ordinate input into the setting of clear strategic objectives for occupational health as part of a combined
health and medical services team and other stakeholders as required.
Act as the Company focal point and Technical Authority for the co-ordinated health risk assessment (HRA) and sanitary compliance activity as outlined in the annual and long term HSE plans.
Coordination of strategies and monitoring programmes for chemical, physical, biological and ergonomic hazards in the workplace and RoK regulatory compliance in sanitary and industrial health areas
Coordinating provision of professional / expert support in the development of controls and mitigation measures for identified health risks
Coordinate the process of the continuous update of existing occupational health documentation to reflect the current Company practice and issue / review / reissue of such documentation in accordance with the NCOC document control system
Coordinate the preparation and organise delivery of Occupational Health awareness training programmes to Company employees to Contractor personnel.
Provide hands on support in all aspects of Industrial Hygiene whenever needed, but with the priority of training local staff in international standards.
Drive, maintain and improve the implementation of international standards in occupational health and hygiene
Provide education and supervision of local staff and develop their expertise in Industrial hygiene according to international standards
 
Management Responsibilities:
If required, manage some of the team of sanitary hygiene doctors and hygiene engineers

Safety Responsibilities:
The job holder will need to show an aptitude to work within this multicultural and multi-stakeholder environment and translate between CoV codes, standards, systems, and practices and the NCJV Company Management System.
Compliance with:
Kazakhstan Statutory Health, Safety & Environmental Laws/Regulations;
The Corporate Health, Safety & Environment Policy, and Safety Management Systems ;
Main Interfaces (internal and external):
Company
The job holder has to liaise with HSE and Medical colleagues and interact with and between various Departments and stakeholders
External
The job holder may have to liaise with officers from local health agencies and Regulators (e.g. Sanitary Dept. in RoK), Contractors, Suppliers, Consultants etc, for site visits following agreement with line management

Qualification Requirements:
A recognized European or US Occupational Health qualification and professional affiliation (e.g. Diploma of Professional Competence in Occupational Hygiene bestowed by the Faculty of Occupational Hygiene).
Previous experience in the petrochemical industry in both onshore and offshore operations.
A minimum of 10 years experience working with OH/IH issues, preferably within construction, heavy engineering and/or the oil and gas industry

Required Competences:
Proven experience in theoretical and practical aspects of Occupational Hygiene and Health in the workplace including, monitoring and control of health hazards together with knowledge of the (Health Risk Assessment) HRA process and auditing.
Proven track record in successful program development.
Knowledge and experience of critical food hygiene and safety issues.
Working Conditions:
The job is based in Atyrau under a 5/2 residential basis and will involve regular periodic travel to all NCOC locations within Kazakhstan including offshore facilities.
