Medic/Radio Operator

Role:
Petrofac currently has an opportunity for a Medic/Radio Operator working a two weeks offshore/three weeks leave rota. This role is split, with one week spent working as a Medic and one week spent working as a Radio Operator.

The position holder will be responsible for coordinating installation occupational health, hygiene and welfare. Acting as the primary source of medical advice on the installation. Providing advice and consulting with onshore management, as appropriate, for any personnel suffering from illness or injury.

The position holder will also perform the role of Radio Operator and full training will be provided to applicants who do not currently hold the necessary certification.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide offshore primary medical care service and liaise with onshore medical services as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate patient medical records in accordance with Client requirements.
  • Maintain the installation medical facility including stocks and equipment. Conduct regular checks on condition of first-aid equipment, eye wash stations in line with Client requirements.
  • Control all prescriptions, other medications and equipment used in dealing with sick/injured personnel.
  • Ensure appropriate distribution and storage of medical supplies around installation and sickbay.
  • Carry out health awareness training as required.
  • Administer onboard computer network system, including system backups and system user administration.
  • Act as Petrofac Focal Point whilst in Medic role.
  • Maintain the integrity and effective operation of the installation’s Radio Room systems and equipment in accordance with the company and statutory standards and regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with aircraft, vessels and offshore installations during routine operations and under emergency conditions.

OTHER ROLES - Emergency Duties
In the event of an emergency, carry out such duties as identified in the station bill/emergency response procedure or as directed by the OIM. Personnel are required to undertake the training to equip them for these roles.
