Duties & Responsibilities
Offshore Medic should provide 24-hour coverage of first line medical and consultation services for offshore personnel. Liaise all significant medical cases with Company Doctor and if decided necessary summon emergency medical support and prepare personnel for evacuation or referral. Perform follow-up treatment and rehabilitation in cases of injury and illness where evacuation is not required. Respond to personnel counseling needs. Provide individual medical examinations as requested and health screening. Maintain and computerized statutory records, reports, and referral letters. Maintain adequate stock of medications and equipment.


Job Roles:

Essential: On-call duty 24/7
The medic will be on duty for 12 hours, start and finish times to be mutually agreed and on-call 24/7 for emergencies outside of normal work hours.
Provide first response in an emergency, i.e., perform any necessary treatments on the scene until the emergency rescue team arrives.
Diagnosing health problems via the observation of symptoms and patient interaction
Give medical advice in case of low-threshold requests, e.g., less severe diseases.
Act as the responsible person for the control of all medical equipment, medication, consumables in the hospital
If needed cooperation with land-based emergency physician
Carry out Alcohol testing, drug testing, water quality testing on request using test kits supplied by the Company.
Perform Hygiene / Welfare Inspections and report the findings to Project HSE Manager
Take part in and assist with performing onboard emergency exercises and drills.
Prepare and roll out health and wellbeing initiatives monthly.
Assist in the preparation and present hospital equipment, medication, and consumables levels/requirements for employees review and approval.
Preparedness to transfer from vessel to structures or other vessels.
Preparedness to take over additional duties, e.g., carrying out First Aid trainings with personnel of the wind farm or participating in emergency drills.

Qualifications:
University degree in medicine
Knowledge of working with OSHA Injury and Illness Recordkeeping and Reporting Requirements as per OSHA’s Recordkeeping Regulation (see 29 CFR Part 1904) including 300, 300A and 301 Reporting forms
At least 7-8 years related post-graduation experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in the medical field in oil and gas industry with offshore experience (preferably vessel operations).
Good working experience of providing medical support to Vessel operations especially related to, diving, suspended loads, confined space entry, working at height, hot work activities etc.
Working knowledge of the relevant regulations, decrees and laws related to health, safety, and environment.
