Job Description:
Aspen Medical is seeking expressions of interest from experienced Paramedics who have provided specialist medical support in expedition/wilderness settings or as a Search and Rescue Paramedic. Our global resources client is looking to recommence work in Papua New Guinea in October and requires clinicians who are fit, highly skilled, and able to manage a variety of presentations in very remote locations.
These positions will require:
The ability to make a diagnosis or perform actions in the absence of a physician
You to configure, pack and select only the appropriate medical equipment in a backpack then transport the equipment and perform medical duty on steep slopes in a hot and wet climate over great land distances
Proper physical condition to conduct long term bush walks for several kilometres in uneven and steep terrain in austere conditions
Qualifications and strong experience in emergency /pre-hospital emergency medicine ideally with wilderness, search and rescue, and/or expedition support experience
Up to date and continuous emergency training in skills such as ACLS and PHTLS, and proficiency with advanced airway skills
Due to the international location of the work, you will be required to complete mandatory hotel isolation upon arrival in PNG, and when returning in Australia. The required work effort once onsite is 6 weeks.
