Senior Medic, Syria Response (Subject to funding)
The starting salary package for this position is £36,696 GBP per annum (approx. $51,951 USD) including all allowances.
About the role:
We seeking a Senior Medic to support mine action teams. Reporting to and working closely with the Medical Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing medical and emergency support, ensuring medical drills and procedures are followed as per Standard Operating Procedures and international Mine Action standards. You will be responsible for the training and capacity building of medics and provide first aid training to all programme staff. You will also have responsibility for the maintenance and care of medical equipment and supplies while ensuring hygiene standards are maintained.
About you:
Successful candidates will need to be a qualified paramedic and be trained in Advanced Trauma Life Support with substantial trauma experience. Recent professional experience in the medical sector, outside of a hospital/clinic environment is essential, alongside significant experience of pre-hospitalisation treatment and providing first aid in remote, post conflict locations. You will need to be able to work in a challenging and politically sensitive environment. The successful candidate will need to have fluent English language skills to be able to work in this role, whilst Arabic language skills would be desirable.
