Key Responsibilities:
Provide emergency medical care to all platform personnel on a 24/7 basis.
Provide routine medical care and advice to all platform personnel.
Advise the platform management on all medical and occupational health issues.
Maintain emergency medical equipment on the platform as per Medics Standing Orders.
Maintain the medical pharmacy on the platform as per Medics Standing Orders.
Provide training for ERT and first aid teams in emergency response procedures and delivery of first aid including use of all platform emergency equipment.
Facilitate the emergency evacuation of ill or injured personnel.
Monitor all medications and substances brought onto the platform by personnel and refer to company medical advisor for guidance when medications out with the medical standing orders are brought on to the platform.
Assist with compliance with the Noise at Work Regs as detailed within the NEMS Database and in addition ensuring delivery of awareness training, continuous review of hearing protection, review of platform noise levels when requested, carrying out personal noise dosimetry as per Occupational Health Plan.
Assist with compliance with the COSHH Regs 2002 in all aspects from review of new chemicals to the Platform to assessment, health surveillance, monitoring etc.
Perform Face Fit Testing as required.
Focal Point for the Management of Potable Water on the asset to ensure all control actions as detailed within the platform L8 Assessment are undertaken as per schedule. Respond to any changes in water management to protect the platform personnel from water borne infections.
Provide active support to platform personnel who may be subject to stress in the workplace or from outside influences. Advise management offshore and on shore when this becomes an issue.
Be available to carry out essential training and keep records up to date in accordance with the Training Matrix for CNRI Medics.
Implementation and on-going maintenance of the Healthy Working Lives programme
Maintain health awareness by ongoing health screening for blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose, BMI and fitness and by giving active support to individuals who which to improve their lifestyle.
Essential Skills:
Registered Nurse Adult, who appear on the NMC register, and have a suitable portfolio which clearly demonstrates appropriate post registration experience.
RMN’s with other nursing qualifications, (RGN or EN), who appear on the NMC register and have a suitable portfolio which clearly demonstrates appropriate post registration experience in general nursing
Naval /Royal Marine Medical Assistants, who have attained the rate of Leading Medical Assistant/Corporal and above and have a suitable portfolio which clearly demonstrates appropriate experience and service
Army Medical Assistants (CMT1, RMA1), who have attained the rank of Corporal and above and have a suitable portfolio which clearly demonstrates appropriate experience and service.
RAF Medical Assistants, who have attained the rank of Corporal and above and have a suitable portfolio which clearly demonstrates appropriate experience and service
Paramedic, who are on the HCPC Register, and have a suitable portfolio which clearly demonstrates appropriate experience and service.
