Jadestone Energy currently owns 2 producing assets off the coast of Western Australia and is seeking to acquire a third asset in a shared partnership in New Zealand.
Job Summary
Assist the OIM in managing HSE performance and compliance on the Montara Venture in accordance with the requirements of the JSE Business Management System (BMS), regulatory requirements and other commitments (including Safety Case and Environment Plan).
Responsible for providing medical coverage during normal operations and emergencies, and for maintaining medical and pharmaceutical supplies.
Manning of facility radio and supporting administrative tasks such as Training & Competency, coordinating travel arrangements and maintaining manning roster.
HSE Advisor duties
Monitor and report on HSE related KPIs;
Conduct regular inspections and audits and provide feedback to vessel or worksite supervision;
Conduct Permit to Work Training, JHA Training; Safety Observation training and other HSE related training sessions;
Provide training on Health, Safety, Environment and Occupational Hygiene according to in-house and external agency programs. (e.g. NOPSEMA);
Maintain training records and identify requirements for refresher training;
Organise and facilitate vessel inductions, Toolbox Talks, HSR Committee meetings, General HSE Meetings and any other ad hoc HSE meetings;
Monitor and record all Safety Observations, provide feedback and training and identify ways to improve reporting;
Assist in reporting of Near misses, Incidents and events in a timely manner; facilitate investigations and submit reports as per company procedures;
Organise / conduct /identify need for Occupational Hygiene surveys e.g. Noise, lighting;
Promote a Total Safety Culture as per the Safety Management Plan;
Submit weekly and monthly HSE reports to the appropriate parties as required;
Attend and participate in Project related HAZIDs as required
Act as focal point for HSE issues onboard/at worksite and disseminate information provided from onshore as required;
Ensure notice boards have the required information and are kept up to date;
Facilitate Emergency Response training according to schedule;
Monitor and report on HSE related KPIs;
Medic duties
Provide first aid / medical and emergency treatment as required for all personnel;
Maintain medical centre through identification of equipment service requirements
Coordinate ordering of medical consumables;
Maintain hospital stock levels etc.;
Facilitate Health Promotion programs;
Conduct Emergency Response first aid training;
Provide trend analysis reports on medical centre attendances to vessel and JSE management;
Liaise with external providers i.e. doctors, workers compensation case workers, allied health professionals etc.;
Other Support
Responsible for helicopter traffic control and administration and updating of rosters and POB lists.
Provide clerical and administrative services as required by the platform personnel.
Perform role of facility radiation safety officer (RSO) Monitoring NORM’s, training & maintain monitoring equipment
Experiences, Skills and Knowledge required:
Board of Australia Nursing or Paramedic Registration AHPRA (or equivalent)
Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety
Provide First Aid
Advanced Life Support Level II
TBOSIET and MSIC
5 - 10 years’ experience in the offshore oil & gas industry in a similar role;
Excellent communicator, with ability to lead discussions, run presentations and manage workshops and training in an offshore environment;
Excellent computer skills and the ability to work with new computer systems/databases;
Excellent reporting skills;
Strong commitment to HSE and the development of a Total Safety Culture;
Ability to multi – task;
Sound time management skills;
Self-starting and able to work with minimal supervision;
Ability to function within a team environment;
Ability to quickly adapt to changes in job priorities;
Emergency management of medical conditions and traumatic injury;
Clinical practice in diagnosis and treatment of common medical conditions
Familiar with incident investigation techniques.
Experience of Permit to Work, Computerised Maintenance Management Systems, incident response, Medivac
