Description:
The Physician will utilize expertise to mitigate and treat injuries and illnesses to ensure proper injury care and disease diagnosis, treatment and recovery, request necessary tests and follow-up visits and refer patients to specialists as necessary. Will coordinate medical referrals, coordinate admission, monitor and arrange final disposition. In addition, will require stabilization of patient and coordination of evacuation of patient to higher levels of medical care though the medevac center. We are looking for candidates with a commitment to a proactive approach to workplace safety while taking a diplomatic and professional approach to customer interactions.
Experience Required:
At least 5 years’ experience in role and at least 3 of those years in a conflict zone such as Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Yemen, Somalia, CAR, Congo, etc.
Either worked or is working as a member of the military medical community or an inner city ER/EMS system.
Tactical military medicine preferred with remote experience a plus.
Board Certified in Family Medicine
Must have practice experience to include the broad range of gynecologic, medical, surgical, orthopedic, psychiatric and trauma emergencies.
Must have seen patients within six months of applying for the position.
OR
8 years’ experience in role and at least 1 year should be overseas.
Either worked or is working as a member of the military medical community or an inner city ER/EMS system.
Tactical military medicine preferred with remote experience a plus.
Board Certified in Family Medicine
Must have practice experience to include the broad range of gynecologic, medical, surgical, orthopedic, psychiatric and trauma emergencies.
Must have seen patients within six months of applying for the position.
Education Required:
Current and unrestricted license from any US State, District of Columbia or US Territory to provide healthcare within scope of practice.
Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or equivalent.
Current American College of Surgeons Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification is required.
Must have a current unrestricted DEA License
Physical Requirements:
Work is normally performed in a clinic that is located in a tactical environment that will require working in a non-typical work environment.
Work may also involve all aspects of patient movement from point of injury to point of care. May also include sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
A very physical position that will require bending, stooping and lifting more than 15 lbs.
Must be able to function with 50 lbs of body armor while performing extended duties during conflict periods.
Other Special Qualifications:
On call requirements as part of a rotation
Ability to obtain and maintain a clearance to drive company vehicles
Must be able to read, write and speak English to effectively communicate
Must have a current SECRET clearance to be considered for the position. Clearance will be transferred from current company holding clearance to International SOS Government Medical Services for the term of their employment. Candidate will be required to complete any required updates in the Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS) is the Department of Defense (DoD) personnel security clearance and access database.
Must complete US Department of State (DOS) clearance process. Should DOS decline candidate for any reason, candidate will be demobilized and returned to his HOR.
Must meet CENTCOM Mod13 (or current MOD) Deployment Medical Screening Standards. No waivers will be submitted for applicants that fall outside the CENTCOM Standard.
Must pass the Deployment Compatibility Profile Assessment to ensure success in the project location.
Must successfully complete Foreign Affairs Counter Threat (FACT) training program prior to deployment to site. Failure to complete as scheduled or sustaining a delaying injury will result in the candidate being demobilized and returned to their Home of Record (HOR).
A valid passport is required and must be in your possession prior to deploying. To be considered for the position, you must have at least 18 months left on your passport before renewal. You must also maintain that passport during your stay.
Must be capable of obtaining a work visa from the project location’s government.
Must have a current US State motor vehicle license.
