Instructor Flight Paramedic , Middle East

-The Instructor Flight Paramedic is responsible for paramedics in the organization. This includes, supervise, evaluate, train, developing checks and assessments, ensuring staff are up to date on all required training, monitoring field operations and adhering to customer's expectations, local command policies and international regulations at highest customer service levels.

- To establish and prioritize care needed for safe transport of critical patients to the appropriate facility.
- Qualified to provide care for patients and responsible for carrying out the mission and goals in order to conduct helicopter utility functions in Search & Rescue operations, aero
medical evacuation and HEMS tasks of the organization, assuring that safety remains the highest priority.

Will also be responsible to:

- Oversees the paramedic team to ensure flight paramedics are providing prompt, high quality and compassionate patient care that is clinically appropriate based on the SAR Flight Paramedic's training, paramedic registration regulations and protocols.
- Develops, reviews and approves checklists to ensure appropriate care, treatment and transportation is provided to all patients.
- Coordinate with local and host nations to determine medical facilities, location and available capabilities.
- Brief SAR crew about the available locations for a medical evacuation and local procedures.
- Travel outside of the country at direction of supervisor within organization, for up to 30 thirty days at a time. Advance notification maybe limited.
- Provides direct patient care for patients during transport.
- Is responsible for effectively managing the Plan of Care for each patient based on appropriate standards, policies and procedures.
- Completes a thorough patient examination and history on each patient encountered and develops an appropriate plan of care based upon the findings.
- Provides prompt and compassionate patient care that is clinically appropriate based on the SAR Flight Paramedic's training, paramedic registration regulations and company protocols.
- Carefully transport the patient in such a way as to not aggravate his condition or to cause injury.
- Prompt cleaning, disinfecting, and restocking of all equipment necessary to ensure the SAR Aircraft's availability to return to service as soon as possible.
- Be thoroughly acquainted with and comply with SAR procedures and requirements.
- Be fully acquainted with the limitations and use of the rescue hoist.
- At all times, be informed of all available aids for use in SAR operations and be proficient in their use.
- Meet the requirements stated for SAR training.
- Maintain a physical fitness standard, as necessary to perform the duties of a Flight Paramedic.
- Check all cabin and SAR equipment on taking over duty, in cooperation with Hoist Operator.
- If required, reconfigure the aircraft for the SAR role in conjunction with the commander and Hoist Operator.
- Carry out pre-flight duties as delegated by the commander / Hoist Operator.
- Perform duties as Flight Paramedic.
- Operate FLIR equipment.
- Act as an Observer.
- Operate Nightsun searchlight, as required.
- Adheres to all Health Authority of Abu Dhabi laws, rules and regulations governing the Paramedic.
- Calmly and confidently interacts with medical staff at sending facilities and ground EMS crews where necessary, to obtain an appropriate medical history, provide any necessary additional medical treatment, and prepare the patient for transport. This interaction must remain professional and respectful at all times.
- Maintains all patient information in the strictest of confidence.
- Complete any additional reports, as required.

Nationality No Restriction Qualification -Bachelor's in Emergency Medical Care or equivalent.

- Bachelor's degree in health-related field.
- Must possess a flight medical assistant (FMA) or aviation health care providers (AHCP) certification.
- Must possess current AHA CPR certification for both adult and child (Healthcare provider).
- Advance Cardiac Life Support Certification (ACLS).
- Post Graduate or Master (Desirable).

Experience - Minimum: 5 five years' experience as a Paramedic (at least 2 two as Flight Paramedic on HEMS).

- Must successfully complete company provided orientation and training.
- Must successfully complete helicopter underwater escape training (HUET).

Desirable.

- Good interpersonal team work and self-reliance.
- Adaptability and resilience.
- Must be able to swim and perform limited diver duties on water or land.
- Must have experience on Helicopter Hoist Operations (HHO) as a diver
