Nurse (LPN/LVN) , Osan Air Base - Korea

Location: Osan Air Base, Korea

Daily duties include but are not limited to the following:

Shall have skill in use of military medical computer software such as AHLTA, CHCS, PIMR, AIMWTS, and PEPP highly desired and maintain all notes a accurately in the electronic medical records;
Shall provide medical record reviews and documents findings for Separation History and Physical Examination to be completed by either the VA or DOD.

Shall provide plans, organizes, and implements medical standards activities for the SGP, as well as providing consultative services to the MTF on medical standard issues, medical standards training, deployment processing, and other Aerospace Medicine Standards related topics, as required.  And also, the duties will be performed in accordance with established procedures and protocols, within the scope of practice. 

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

Overseas Clearance, Security Clearance, Profiles, Enlistments Physical, Initial Fly Class (IFC) Physicals, DoD Medical Examination Review Board (DoDMERB) Physicals, Waivers, Deployment Availability Working Group (DAWG), Retraining;
Shall provide administrative reviews of Duty Limiting Conditions (DLC), physical examinations, profiles, and appropriate clearances before these documents are forwarded/leave the MTF.
Shall functions as the MTF’s key focal point and functional expert for the analysis, interpretation, and application of medical standards to include waiver actions.
Shall represent medical standards element with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.Educational and Skills Requirements:
Employees performing services shall be either a native English speaker or shall be proficient in understanding (reading, speaking, listening and writing) English.
They shall be capable of effectively communication with patients and MTF staff.
If a non-native speaker, proof of a minimum score or higher of the TOEIC score: 780.
Must possess a valid US issued LPN or LVN license.
Must have a valid BLS (Course C) or American Red Cross CPR/BLS;
Must have at least 1 year of experience within the last three (3) years in the performance of an LVN or LPN
LPN or LVN shall have knowledge of established medical principles, practices, requirements, procedures and regulations, and their application in a military health care setting primarily for active duty members as they relate to the specialized practice of Aerospace Medicine;
LPN or LVN shall have knowledge and skills to effectively apply LVN or LPN functions:
Assessment: Identification of patients that need special medical and education needs/management; comprehensive collection of patient information and medical status; and continued evaluation of an established plan of care;
Planning: Collaboration with the patient, family/caregiver, primary provider and other members of the health care team for developing an effective plan of care;
Facilitation: Care coordination and communication among all involved parties;
Advocacy: Support for the patient and family/caregivers to ensure identified education and appropriate, timely care coordination is received.

LPN or LVN shall have knowledge of overall medical service and individual medical treatment facility organization, management, mission, purpose, programs, related requirements in various administrative areas, philosophy, and objectives on a practical level, as well as an understanding of the JCAHO, AAAHC, and HIS standards and AF and DoD instructions.
