Registered Nurse –Bahamas Disaster

Description:
Caliburn is currently seeking a Registered Nurse to assist in the humanitarian crisis caused by Hurricane Dorian by supporting the disaster relief efforts in the Bahamas. Medical Personnel would support the base camp with some travel to assist residents or other medical facilities.

***This position is notional upon contract award.

Duties:

The primary responsibilities of the Registered Nurse include the following:Provide triage for patients to the site physician assistant or nurse practitioner as needed for medical care and assistance
Systematically assesses the urgent or emergent health needs of patients, analyzes data, and formulates a plan of care, with other members of the medical team, which is realistic in relation to the employee’s capabilities and job requirements
Recognizes and treats illnesses and injuries according to established operating instructions within the scope of licensure and regulations of state employment or practice
Records and maintains patient information in accordance with standard protocols, and the Privacy Act
Identifies and records signs and symptoms of physical and mental conditions
Thoroughly exercises skill in initiative, judgment, problem-solving and decision-making on a daily basis
Makes independent judgments and prioritizes workload
Demonstrates proven success in stressful environments
Coordinates care with other medical professionals
Protects patients' privacy through confidentiality, infection control procedures, assuring consistent medication administration, and assuring proper storage and maintenance procedures for all equipment and supplies
Other duties and projects as assigned.

Job Requirements
Qualifications:
Must hold a current and active unencumbered Florida State Registered Nurse License.
Must hold certifications in ACLS, BLS and PALS.
A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a licensed Registered Nurse.
Flexibility is required due to potential shift changes based on operational needs and /or command priorities.
Strong organizational, analytical and written/verbal communication skills
Strong problem-solving skills to research and resolve inquiries and respond in a timely manner
Proficient in Microsoft applications, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Other Requirements:
Must hold a current US Passport
Clean Criminal Background check
Clean Child Abuse and Neglect (CAN) or child protective services check
Available for immediate, last minute travel outside the US to Bahamas

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Visual acuity required to complete paperwork and computer work
Able to communicate verbally and listen for constant surveillance of staff activities
Able to withstand changing environmental conditions with weather (rain, lightning, and winds)
Able to withstand and manipulate through construction areas, sports fields, etc.
