We are looking to hire a Medic/ Paramedic HAAD approved.
To provide onsite first aid care to all those at work on the unit, including attendance upon casualties from accidents.
Arrange, in conjunction with shore-based medical services, for the continued treatment and further care of ill or injured persons. While minor ailments may be treated on the unit, many conditions may involve medical isolation, sending an individual ashore. The medic should be able to resuscitate and stabilize a patient prior to evacuation ashore.
Maintaining the sick bay in a hygienic and acceptable manner.
Daily liaise with the Camp Boss for inspections to check that a hygienic, healthy and acceptable environment is maintained on a daily basis.
Advise the OIM/Master in writing if a person suffers from any of the diseases as specified in RIDOR -Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 1995 schedule 1 of Statutory Instrument 1995 - Number 3163.
Carry out weekly potable water checks and daily inspections in the food preparation areas and galley.
Perform weekly's hygienic round in close cooperation with OIM/Master.
Carry out safety/familiarization induction if directed by the OIM/Master.
Assist the OIM/Master in the day to day operations if directed (e.g. COSHH assessment, rig administration).
Establish and maintain a medical Log.
Establish and maintain medical stock.
Maintain an effective handover log with the relief Medic
Typed out medical requisitions together with a note explaining the relevant regulatory requirements and passed on to the OIM/Master for approval with a copy.
QUALIFICATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
The preferred educational level and amount of experience for this function are:
Authorized/ Skilled Physician in the performance of Advanced Life Support.
B.I.G./State registered Nurse (preferably supplemented with a specialization in Emergency Care / Paramedic).
3 years' experience as a medic, preferably in hospital first aid or ambulance/ emergency room.
Preferably maritime/offshore experience.
