Emergency Medical Technician , Kabul

Job Summary

The Emergency Medical Technician will provide operational health care services support for assigned program.

Principal Accountabilities
(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)
Provide health care services to team members as assigned.
Examine patients, perform physical exams and compile medical data, including health history.
Perform emergency therapeutic procedures to stabilize trauma victims, such as injections, management of infection, CPR, etc.

Apply scientific knowledge to treat human responses to actual or potential health problems.
Coordinate treatment plan with other caregivers such as regional medical personnel, physical therapists or other medial assets.
Coordinate with operational mission planners for aero medical evacuation missions.
Provide medical attendance if required.
Document and maintain patient records of services.
May provide emergency medical training to local nationals designated as medics.
Perform other qualified duties as assigned

Knowledge & Skills
Advanced knowledge of first aid and emergency care.
Knowledge of and ability to manage medical records and medical equipment.
Good oral and written English communication skills, with the ability to write required reports and correspondence in English.
Ability to read and interpret all required documents and write required reports and correspondence in English.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.

Experience & Education
High school degree or equivalent.
Minimum five (5) years of experience in the medical field as a Medic or EMT.
Prefer experience on deployed contingency operations, or real-world management of medical operations.
Driver’s license from any state is acceptable and must be current; driver must be in compliance with license restrictions (e.g. eyeglasses)
EMT at any other level must be NREMT qualified or hold any state qualification appropriate to the level.  All subordinate qualifications including CLS or civilian equivalent and BLS must be current or renewed within a 90 day window during the period of this contract.
Quality Assurance and Protocol Development will be done at no lower a level of qualification that the highest qualified individual (e.g. EMT-Basic will not review EMT-P performance unless there are other more valid qualifications).

Physical Requirements/Working Environment
Must meet all physical, medical and other requirements for overseas deployment in accordance with current customer requirements.
Work may be partially indoors in an office setting, as well as outdoors in a field environment.
Place of assignment may be in austere environmental conditions.
