Location: Kitimat, British Columbia, Canada
We are currently looking for energetic Paramedics (Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) or Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) to assist our Team Lead in providing advanced medical rescue service delivery in a semi-remote setting located in Kitimat, British Columbia, Canada. The successful candidates must be registered or qualified to register with the British Columbia provincial licensing / governing board. Paramedics will work within their scope of practice, have advanced care protocols equivalent to the provincial regulations and guidelines (as determined by location), and work within the National Occupational Competency Profile (NOCP). Training and experience within the areas of firefighting, hazmat, confined space and land or water rescue is considered advantageous.
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
Must be registered paramedic in good standing or qualified to register with British Columbia provincial licensing / governing board
Valid WHMIS, H2S Alive, TDG, eGSO (electronic General Safety Orientation) and Construction Safety Training System (CSTS) or Petroleum Safety Training (PST)
Valid Driver’s License and experience driving MTC’s or Ambulances considered an asset
Minimum three years’ experience required
Minimum one year experience in industrial setting. Additional experience in an industrial setting is considered an asset
Certification as a Paramedic In Industry (PII) through WorkSafe BC is required PARAMEDIC
Training and experience within the areas of firefighting, hazmat, confined space and land or water rescue is preferred and considered an asset
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills required
Moderate to advance computer skills including proficiency within Microsoft Office Suites.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team, across multiple functional areas, and with various professional disciplines
Must be able to make decisions calmly and efficiently in high stress environments
Must be detail oriented
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide advanced first aid / medical aid to employees to promote and support a healthy and safe work environment
Provide medical assessments and treatment plans, and implement follow up with evaluation of care Ensure the medical station is in excellent functioning condition by completing various safety, inventory, and maintenance tasks
Manage sensitive and confidential information while displaying sound and objective judgment
Be responsible for maintaining accurate and confidential medical records, in accordance with applicable regulations
Promote and support a healthy and safe work environment
Organize and maintain medical equipment
Organize and maintain medical inventory supplies to ensure the availability of required inventory
Work as a member of the emergency response team
Additional responsibilities may include but not be limited to: health surveillance, drug and alcohol testing, training, and participation in health and safety programs
LOCATION The position will be located in Kitimat, British Columbia.
