Motiva is currently seeking an Emergency Response Technician to join our Emergency Response team at the Norco Refinery in Norco, LA. The Emergency Response Technician provides initial response to emergencies including Fire, Release, Medical, Rescue and Haz-Mat responses that may occur inside the site.

A day in the life of a Motiva Emergency Response Technician:
Provide fire extinguisher inspection and maintenance for the site's fire extinguishers, fire hoses, fire monitors and all other fire equipment.
Provide respiratory service center duties for the site, including managing the site respiratory protective equipment cabinets inventory, inspection and maintenance on respirators and SCBA's.
Responsible for ensuring the emergency response equipment is maintained, working on department projects and ready for response.
Expected to have a visible field presence, as demonstrated through doing the core work activities.
Respond to all medical, fire, and hazmat emergencies on site as well as offsite assets.
Perform work process audit.
Assist with any site needs.


We are looking for someone with the following Skills, Experiences and Qualifications:

Must have legal authorization to work in the U.S on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
Working knowledge of industrial firefighting techniques and strategies and meet the following qualifications or their equivalent:
Certify as a Hazardous Materials Technician.
Certify as a ROCO II Rescue Technician.
Certify as fire extinguisher repair Tech.
Certify as service technician as Scott SCBA and respirator.
Have experience or training in the following areas:
Incipient Industrial firefighting
Advanced Exterior firefighting
Interior structural firefighting
Must be certified as an Emergency Medical Technician - Basic (National Registry).
Must have or be able to obtain a CDL Louisiana Driver's license.
Working knowledge of industrial firefighting apparatus and foam generation equipment.
Working knowledge of medical response protocols directed by the medical team leader.
Minimum five years Emergency Response experience.
Hazard recognition, risk assessment, problem-solving and decision-making skills are required.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Must have good computer skills and be able to use Microsoft applications.
