Shift Paramedic (Marathon Petroleum Company)

Overview:
Marathon Petroleum Company LP, a recognized leader in the energy industry, is seeking Paramedics for its Galveston Bay Refinery, which has over 400,000 barrels/day of crude processing capacity. The Paramedics will responsible for providing First Aid Care to employees and contractors at the First Aid Facility.
Secondary duties will include collecting samples for drug and alcohol screens and benzene exposure screens, assisting with case management of work related injuries and illnesses, interacting with safety professionals, responding to serious incidents, and analyzing personal H2S monitors for potential exposure.

Job responsibilities include:
Provide on site first aid care to employees and contractors as approved by the Medical Director.
Provide follow up evaluations and treatment for minor injuries and illnesses as approved by the Medical Director.
Collect samples for drug and alcohol screens and benzene exposure screens.
Assist the Safety Engineering Team and Contractor Safety Team with case management of work related injuries and illnesses.
On a shift to shift basis, monitor the Refinery Emergency Response team EMS staffing and respond to serious incidents as appropriate/directed.
Serve as the first point of contact for employees who have had personal H2S monitors alarm. Capture and interpret data from the monitor and treat or council employee as appropriate.
Work with the refinery medical personnel as needed to transfer patient information, develop and refine working protocols and improve efficiency for the medical staff and the refinery 24/7 organization.
Develop and maintain relationships with the workforce at large to foster trust and encourage reporting of minor injuries.
Maintain appropriate CE training and certifications as required by Medical Director.

Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
5+ years of previous Paramedic/EMT experience
National Registry Paramedic with Texas reciprocity within 90 days of hire
Willingness and ability to work on a rotating schedule as needed
ACLS
CPR Health Care Provider
Familiarity with Microsoft Office
Ability to obtain a TWIC card
Good verbal and written communication skills.

Desired Qualifications
Familiarity with OSHA 300 log requirements
Familiarity with OSHA 1910.1030 Bloodborne Pathogens requirements
Familiarity with OSHA 1904.7 – description of First Aid vs Medical Treatment
Back ground in clinical evaluation-i.e. urgent care, ER, Jail, Remote duty Environment, Military

Familiarity with working with Site Safety Team
