We are currently expanding our Vital Missions Group and seeking a highly motivated Medical Officerto help support our efforts in the Global War on Terrorism in Afghanistan.
The incumbent for this role will provide advanced medical support for deployed contractor personnel in support of the Project LEGACY.
Specific Duties:
Plan and implement a program for the treatment of minor injuries suffered during security operations and the stabilization and preparation for transport of injured personnel or personnel with sickness that warrants transfer to a higher-level medical facility
Plan and implement a medical support program (preventive and corrective) to maintain the health of personal protective, static guard, emergency response team, and support personnel
Ability to coordinate with U.S. Military and Coalition Forces medical assets and align treatment plans and specialty consults with other health care providers as required
Coordinates the operation, interaction and activities of medical facilities within an area of operation
Provides examination and care to Project LEGACY personnel and establishes fixed medical facilities to support operations with emergency, routine, and long term medical care
Diagnoses and treats various medical dermatological, pediatric, infectious and obstetric conditions using appropriate medications, intravenous fluid support and physical measures
Orders, stores, catalogs, safeguards and distributes medical/pharmaceutical supplies and equipment
Carries and operates weapons as specified to accomplish daily operational requirements.
RequirementsEducation: Bachelor’s Degree highly desired
Experience: A minimum of 10 years of relevant Special Operations Forces operational experience
Active SECRET Security Clearance required – TOP SECRET Security Clearance preferred
Graduate of the U.S. Army Special Forces Medical Sergeant (18D with NREMT-P currency)
Exceptional weapons handling skills (MK 18, M9 or Glock 17, MP5, and AK-47)
Superior mounted and dismounted orienteering skills using maps and electronic navigational equipment
Must have recent deployment and operational experience in Afghanistan
Must have Forward Operation Base (FOB) experience, comfortable teaching and a desire to mentor
Ability to live and operate in an austere and hazardous environment
Must have a Valid US Passport
Ability to work within multi-disciplinary teams
Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to operate in independent and collaborative work environments
