Occupational Health Manager

Responsibilities
Oversees case management team to ensure the provision of evidenced based, timely and cost effective patient care. Identifies and appropriately manages risk situations. Provides excellent customer service to all patients and their families.

Develops and maintains department policies and procedures relating to all aspects of case management and crew occupational health. Reviews cases to determine fitness to work per Company fitness standards.
Monitors, develops and implements regular process enhancements to maximize operational efficiencies at examining clinics. Monitors and audits case management and fitness processes to ensure compliance. Arranges regular audits of clinics.

Identifies, screens and selects preferred healthcare providers and negotiates contract rates. Identifies external facilities to conduct fitness examinations for crew and negotiates contracts including pricing, test selection and health record management.

Reviews patient feedback and malpractice cases for trends and implements both preventative and corrective actions. Regularly implements changes that will directly improve the quality of patient care.

Reviews, researches and responds to medical claims in conjunction with the legal department.

Reviews procedure requests and medical bills for accuracy and appropriateness and coordinates payment. Investigates and resolves issues of financial discrepancy appropriately.

Develops, implements, and monitors employee health promotion programs.

Regularly reviews and reengineers department processes to maximize business efficiencies and ensure all policies are current, accurate and efficient. Develops joint complementary business processes with internal and external customers.

Participates in departmental coverage including out of hours on call and Emergency Response Organization coverage.

Requirements
Registered Nurse with 10 years experience

Licensed Nurse Practitioner preferred

Occupational Health and Case Management experience essential

Change Management and Global Health experience desired

Broad based, current clinical skills

Critical thinker with ability to identify problems and create solutions

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Advanced skills with latest MS Office and Windows Applications

Previous global travel beneficial

Reports to Director, Medical Operations. Direct reports: Medical Case Supervisors

This position is in a department that has adopted a 9/80 alternative workweek schedule. Therefore, you will have the opportunity to work a schedule that provides you with one day off every two weeks. During each two-week pay period, employees in this department typically work four nine-hour days plus one weekday off, and four nine-hour days and one eight-hour day.
