Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
-The ship's doctor is responsible for the basic and emergency medical treatment of the guest onboard each ship and directly supervises the ship's nurse.
-The ship's physician also serves as the emergency and primary care doctor for all crew onboard during the duration of their contracts.
Hiring Requirements:
* Must be a Registered Physician in the Unites States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zeeland, Ireland, South Africa or European Union, or other country approved by the Medical Director
* 3+ years of formal post-graduate/ post-registration supervised clinical training, or board certification or equivalent in Emergency Medicine, Family Practice or Internal Medicine
* Must have: current ACLS certification (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) or its equivalent, unless Board Certified in Emergency Medicine, current BLS certification (Basic Life Support), and current ATLS certificate ( trauma)
* Certificate in PALS (pediatric) desired but not mandatory
* Experience or ability to learn simple laboratory, x-ray procedures. Ability to interpret x-rays and electrocardiograms
* Experience and knowledge of the indications and contra-indication of fibrionolytic therapy and care of the patient before and after administration
* Experience in the care of patients with ST elevation and non-ST elevation, myocardial infarction, congestive heart failure, atrial fibrillation, and other cardiovascular emergencies
* Positive attitude and ability to work with people of different nationalities
* Must possess and active medical license, in good standing and valid for the duration of the contract
* Ability to participate in emergency life-saving drill and required training
* Ability to read, write and speak English clearly and distinctly
* All international applicants must have the ability to obtain a C1/D1 visa (and other relevant visas) when applicable
* All applicants must pass a pre-employment medical examination and be deemed fit for duty at sea
* Basic computer proficiency is required
