Requirement Overview:
The Medical Trainer shall implement and operate programs, practices, and procedures for developing optimal utilization of personnel. Design and administer programs to train all levels of personnel. Develop tests and visual aids. Coordinate class arrangements, conduct training classes, and develop criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities. Keep abreast of training and development research: learning theory, motivation theory, and new materials, methods, and techniques. Develop programs and practices to identify developmental needs including preparing personnel for more responsible positions and increasing effectiveness in present assignments. If required, may use technical experts to assist in training.

Work Hours:
Work may include nights, holidays, and weekends on short notice. Standard will be to conduct training six (6) days per week for up to ten (10) hours per day while at OCONUS work site(s) and a standard 40 hour work week while at CONUS work sites.


Responsibilities:

Train the ANASOC medics to possess the skills to independently conduct the following tasks: tactical combat casualty care, sick call/medical screening, evaluation and treatment, Battalion Aid Station operations, sustainment of trauma evaluation, and resuscitative care.
Medical Trainer shall report to site manager as well as the Program Manager located at Camp Morehead
Provide training to ANA Medics on Special Operations Medical Procedures, Combat Lifesaver Courses and sick call procedures.
Trainer will be responsible for regularly interacting with US military personnel
Based on circumstances that are unique to their work locations, the trainer will be responsible for making on the scene decisions as to how to execute the curriculum
Along with their local site managers, the trainer will be responsible for assessing how well
the ANA students have learned the coursework
Required Operational, Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

4 years of appropriate level of experience, E7/O3 or higher, SOCOM qualified 18D or experience with operational USSOCOM BN/GRP-level. Experience in the Medical Services Corps as a physician’s assistant, MSC, nurse, or physician in a supervisory position with experience in oversight of clinical operations and provide guidance and direction in processing all staff-level functions is highly desired.

Must possess current DoD Secret Security Clearance
Must be able to obtain a Visa for Afghanistan
Must possess a US Passport with at least 6 months of remaining elgibility
Physical & Mental Requirements:

This is an ARMED position. Must obtain and maintain eligibility to possess & operate a firearm in Afghanistan (AFG). As a business necessity, must successfully complete/maintain arming requirements including but not limited to: Psychological evaluation (initial evaluation & annual reevaluations); Completion of Civilian Arming Authorization Mgmt System (CAAMS) requirements/documentation & Arming Authorization Letter from US Forces AFG; Afghan weapons permit from the Afghan Ministry of the Interior
Wear required personal protective gear: body armor, helmet, etc. Independently lift/carry duffle bags with a max weight of 70 lbs/piece & move across uneven terrain
Work & live in AFG with potential assignment to any location in AFG based upon needs of the U.S. Gov’t
Meet medical requirements for position as determined by a pre-employment medical screening & published CRC and USCENTCOM medical deployment standards
Walk or stand on level and/or inclined surfaces up to 8 hours/day & sit for up to 3 hours/day; climb/descend stairs; grasp or handle objects; use finger dexterity; bend elbows/knees; reach above/below shoulders; read/interpret typewritten print; communicate by voice & detect sound by ear
Work, live & respond to a wide variety of operational circumstances in a potentially hostile environment - at remote locations, under austere conditions - with extreme aircraft noise, hostile fire, other acts of aggression and/or extreme weather conditions

Prefer Infantry or Special Operations background
Prefer previous experience training and advising foreign military soldiers
Required Education:


Bachelor's degree from accredited school & four (4) years of related experience, OR two (2) years related experience with Master's degree. Eight (8) years of additional equivalent work experience (12 total years) may be accepted in lieu of BA/BS education requirement.
