Summary The RMI Global Solutions (RMI) Safety Medic is a combined position of field Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) advisor and Medic. This position advises and assists the client in planning and managing the QHSE aspects of the project. The Safety Medic supports and assists the crew in the sustained implementation and verification of QHSE standards and procedures and adherence to these through training, technical assistance and monitoring. The Safety Medic is responsible for promoting a consistent QHSE awareness throughout the crew and assuring robust reporting on QHSE activities and events to the client.

The Safety Medic is responsible for the management of emergent and non-emergency medical care at worksites as designated by the client or content of the scope of work (SOW). Examples of such worksites may include but are not limited to, drilling rigs, hazardous construction areas, areas of high workforce population density, etc. The Safety Medic is responsible for provision of primary and emergency care to client employees, contractors, and sub-contractor personnel at the relevant worksite location or the defined area of responsibility. In addition to providing routine medical services and responding to emergencies the Safety Medic performs safety checks and evaluations of necessary medical gear and equipment required to perform the job and is responsible for the maintenance of the medical equipment and supplies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
Include The Following Provide urgent and emergency care for all workers in the client worksite.
Undertake accurate clinical assessment and examinations.
Maintain up-to-date, accurate, individual medical records utilizing a computer based medical record system.
Report medical treatments in accordance with requirements of Client.
Travel with patient (if necessary) to nearest approved Medical Facility.
Ensure that critical medical supplies and equipment are pre-packed and available for emergency use at dispersed sites or during patient transport.
participate in simulation exercises organized by Client. Be fully conversant with Remote Healthcare Provider (RHCP) guidelines and Recordable Case Management (RCM) guidelines

Be cognizant of the content and ethos of the RMI Field Operations Manual (FOM)
Be fully aware of the field Medical Emergency Response Plan (MERP), Topside and Global Coordination Centre (GCC) capability and use, along with knowing all procedures required for medevacs or other patient transfer processes out of the field
Be fully cognizant of project disease prevention, control and management processes
Appropriately refer to consultation of Topside Support for non-resolving patients or those requiring secondary diagnostics
In incidents of emergency illness or injury cases, stabilise, manage and monitor patient(s) until aeromedical, vessel or ground transport evacuation takes place
Be the point of contact on the ground managing such emergency cases, communicating directly with the client, Environment Health & Safety (EHS) or Operations personnel
Report to client nominated line-manager or EHS Supervisor with regard to case categories (FAC/MTC/WR/NWR/LTI/RWC, etc.)
Take appropriate action with regard to reportable diseases and communicable infection outbreak
Ensure that the clinic is maintained at full readiness with appropriate medicines,
equipment and consumables as required by RHCP Guidelines or specific SOW/Work-task content
Ensure clinic equipment receives daily, weekly or monthly maintenance and technical checks as indicated
Carry out any Health and Hygiene control/management processes completed as directed
Carry out any workforce first-aid training and emergency drill practices as directed by the site EHS entities, as may be required by the SOW
Manage site controlled substances (CS) supply
Forward monthly record of such checks and control measures of CS as directed
Manage patient data by the use of RMI Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
Complete and forward any reporting requirements from the client representative as required by the SOW
Complete any timesheet requirements in a timely manner and forward accordingly
Be the main point of contact for client EHS and site manager entities and communication frequently with such personnel
Carry out any site medical inductions required and monitor workforce personal health status in accordance with national, client or specific Fit to Work standards
Carry out drug & alcohol screening of the workforce as required by the SOW
Carry out any workforce immunisation programs as directed or required by the SOW
Encourage health promotion activities within the workforce
Be compliant with any statutory or company required training objectives
Be compliant with any client or SOW mandatory operational requirements
Commit to a suitable level of knowledge on the client’s Safety Management System (SMS) and RMI QHSE standards and procedures.
Encourage line management QHSE awareness to ensure QHSE is an integral part of the clients project.
Organize and record QHSE training for project personnel including subcontractors, and organize refresher or update courses.
Ensure QHSE information issued by the client QHSE Management Team is distributed.
Ensure that personnel are made aware of changes to key client QHSE documentation as it occurs.
Actively participates in briefings and de-briefings of client QHSE stand-downs, drills, operational activities etc.
Act as a focal point for all project QHSE matters if deemed by the client.
Advise Client on compliance issues within client SMS as well as industry guidelines.
Support the crew in managing risk with Task Risk Assessments (TRA’s), Job Safety Analysis (JSA’s), Management Of Change (MOC), Risk Assessment and Toolbox Topics (TBT’s).
Coach crew/contractors on client JSA’s/TRA’s/TBT’s and assist in the review of work instructions and Toolbox Topics.
Keep abreast of any new client development or policy related to QHSE and disseminate to crew & management accordingly.
Monitor progress with client QHSE action points and track to closure.
Participate in event investigations *Dependent on skill set—may co-lead the investigation process.
Encourage and actively support the client Behavior-Based Safety program.
Review client project QHSE performance indicators and monitor performance against objectives.
Research and report monthly on industry QHSE updates for distribution to the RMI medical team, as assigned by the Project Manager.
Develop medical and QHSE training presentations to be used by the RMI medical team, as assigned by the Project Manager.
Represent RMI Global Solutions in a professional manner at all times.
Maintain current professional certifications, as designated for assigned projects.
Other duties as required SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Education And Experience

Minimum of two (2) years as an independent and fully qualified paramedic, nurse, advanced practitioner or physician
Locally licensed Paramedic without restrictions
Locally licensed Registered Nurse (RN) without restriction
*Minimum of 6 years (12,480 hour equivalent) experience in current scope of practice
*Minimum of 4 years (8,320 hour equivalent) providing care in a remote healthcare setting
Previous experience in seismic operations, maritime operations, industrial operations and/or oil & gas operations is preferred.
2 Years of remote healthcare experience may be obtained in conjunction with the years of general experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, and general computer & technology literacy
After receipt of training and assessment, the ability to effectively use RMI EHR systems 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: 
English fluency
Ability to successfully complete RMI pre-hiring procedures, including a clinical knowledge assessment
Proven reliability, integrity and professional conduct in previous employments
Able to successfully pass any nationally required, project or SOW required Fit to Work medical assessments
Must have documented and current immunisations as required by the project and as recommended by the Center of Disease Control
Ability to write comprehensive reports, both technical and procedural
Capable of administrative and coordination skills
Ethical understanding of patient processes, data information and confidentiality CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES
