Pay range $57,000 to $171,000.
Description
RST must be available for rotational schedule (maximum three rotations annually) plus additional training and screening. This position will be available to support Rotary Wing and Fixed Wing operations to include, but not limited to: Work and practice medicine in austere and limited resource environments
Perform special operations medical support providing initial combat trauma stabilization, enroute trauma care, and CASEVAC to definitive care.
Apply scientific knowledge to human treatment responses to actual or potential health problems
Work with other members of a small team
Establish IV access, administer medications and fluids to include blood products as necessary to manage acutely injured or ill patients under the direction of medical staff.
Prepare equipment, and aid providers during examination and treatment of patients
Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, and interprets electronic displays, such as intracranial pressures, central venous pressures, pulmonary artery pressures, and cardiac rhythms from cardiac monitors, respirators, ventilators, manometers, oxygen pumps, etc.
Manage complex patient airways and pulmonary function using the latest modalities of mechanical ventilation, pharmacological support, video laryngoscopy, and other respiratory/airway therapy techniques
Conduct Critical Care Transport missions for ICU level patients
Assist with routine (Sick Call) medicine
Document care provided and complete medical records in accordance with VIGILINT policy Based on qualifications and experience, may function in a leadership position
Perform special staff functions as required
Perform medical training and instruction when requested
Scope of practice for clinical care will fall under PJ handbook and ATPs per assigned Deputy Medical Director. See medical protocols SOP for further guidance.
Administer basic or advanced emergency medical care and assess injuries and illnesses, and Technical Rescue services in support of PR/CASEVAC operations
May administer medication intravenously, use equipment such as ECGs, or administer advanced life support to sick or injured individuals
Provide oversight and training to lower-level Medics
Scope of practice for clinical care will fall under PJ handbook and ATPs per assigned Deputy Medical Director. See medical protocols SOP for further guidance.
Requirements:
RST Paramedic
Over 8 years of paramedic experience
Pararescue Pipeline graduate or Special Forces Medical Sergent (18D)
Five years of operational experience as a trained special operations medic
National Registry Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic (NREMT-P) certified
Must be able to meet all CRC deployment and medical requirements
Be willing to deploy to various OCONUS operating locations as directed by the Government
Be able to obtain a US passport and visas to travel internationally
Current Secret clearance
Current ACLS, PALS, BLS training through American Heart Association or Red Cross
Current PHTLS certification
United States citizen
Advanced Certification (FP-C, CC-P or TP-C) required within two (2) years of employment
TPATC course completion within 3 months of employment
Previous flight paramedic experience desired
Successful candidates may be invited for an in-person assessment process
Current TCCC certification desired
TCCC Instructor experience desired
Ability to lift 150 pounds with assistance; carry 80 pounds a distance of 30 feet and push/pull over 200 pounds
Providing emergency medical services to include: initial combat trauma stabilization, ongoing field trauma care, and CASEVAC of injured personnel
Providing Technical Rescue services to include: vehicle and aircraft extrication, high-angle rescue, confined space rescue, rope rescue, structural collapse rescue, water rescue, and wilderness search and rescue
