Emergency Rescue Technician/ECP Paramedic - Saudi Arabia
International SOS is looking for ECP registered paramedics (or equivalent) who also have a background/experience/qualification in Emergency Rescue, in particular Fire & Rescue.
Start date: Projected October 2023
Contract type: Permanent
Salary: Monthly and paid in Saudi Riyals
Rotation: 8 weeks on duty followed by 4 weeks off duty

International SOS is looking for ECP registered paramedics (or equivalent) who also have a background/experience/qualification in Emergency Rescue, in particular Fire & Rescue.

Criteria to apply:
Must be registered as an ECP paramedic or equivalent (degree)
Minimum of 5 years' post qualification experience required
Must have proven experience in Fire Fighting/& Rescue (tertiary training/certifications would benefit)
Be able to train in the Fire Fighting components
Previous experience managing Fire Fighting teams highly desirable
Hold a valid ACLS (AHA) or be prepared to obtain prior to mobilisation if selected
Hold a valid ITLS or equivalent or be prepared to obtain prior to mobilisation if selected
Be fully COVID vaccinated
Be Hep B vaccinated
Hold a valid passport
The positions are located in an austere area of Saudi Arabia, and the client would expect the Emergency Rescue Technician (ERT) to be full proficient in the following tasks:
Respond to emergencies, manage the fire and ambulance crews, report to management and produce an after-action report. Make recommendations if required.
Deliver cyanide training, electrical rescue training, gas testing training, AED use and Emergency Management Team training as required
Perform evaluation of confined space work area. Devise a rescue plan. Brief the supervisor and sign the confined space permit. Evaluate trench work and ensure safe procedures are followed.
Familiarity with gas testing equipment and conduct testing on the required confined spaces.
Evaluate high risk factors on site. Device site and risk specific safety plan. Test plan by conducting a realistic drill and produce report. Maintain a register
Maintain a radio register and issue and receive radios as necessary.
Maintain a Gas detector register and calibrate, test and issue when necessary
Perform weekly “Bump Test” calibration of gas detectors and issue report
Ensure rescue equipment for “working at heights” is present and evaluate high risk areas before work commences. Do regular training and drills to ensure readiness.
Do weekly PPE check and update the matrix. Ensure quotes for the needed equipment are obtained and follow procurement chain to ensure purchasing happens.
Maintain confined space register and update when necessary.
Monthly checks of AEDs on site as well as electrical rescue equipment in the substations.
Provide assistance with training the clients ERT team to improve the standard and pass on our knowledge
Inform the HSE team of any activities carried out during the week for the weekly report
Do regular site visits to identify any potential risks and evaluate road closures
Ensure equipment is checked and batteries charged on a regular basis
Identify high risk problems, report via chain of command and follow up to ensure close out of situation
Track fire system and safety shower faults and ensure rapid resolution of faults
Provide guidance to medical team during an emergency and ensure optimal patient care.
