Responsibilities:
This role works within the HSE team to provide support and advice to the MODU management and crews regarding medical information.
Primary Responsibilities:
The Medic will:Provide primary health care to all personnel on board the MODU
Provide medical emergency response and evacuation assistance
Maintain medical records
Control and maintain an accurate list of medication brought onboard the MODU
Maintain medical stores and hospital equipment in accordance with company requirements
To be responsible for the content, control and distribution of prescribed / controlled medication
Consult with the Company Doctor ashore as required in an event of illness or injury and for complex health issues
Control and maintain medical equipment on board the MODU and life boats (inclusive of first aid kits and eye wash stations)
Conduct training for and lead the Medical Response Team during drills and exercises
Conduct and record monthly man-down drills
Participate and advise on emergency response drills, fire, rescue at height, confined space etc
Liaise with the HR Department in regards to injury management
Submit illness/injury reports in EHS Insight
Inspect and report on the general hygiene conditions of the MODU, in particular, conducting the weekly hygiene inspection and the potable water sampling
Assist MODU Management with the co-ordination and maintenance of the Chemical Hazard Communication Program (including maintaining the Safety Data Sheet files around the rig)
Ensure compliance with the Diamond Offshore procedures and Facility Safety Case
Be fully conversant with the Company Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental policies and procedures and comply with them at all times.
Supply administrative services as required by the OIM including the following;Liaising with the onshore Training Coordinators regarding training requirements
Submitting training request forms
Maintaining training records on board the MODU
Assist and facilitate rig-based training
Maintaining World Wide Competency records on the MODU
Facilitate heli-briefings, check in procedures for departing passengers
Meet inbound passengers and conduct MODU inductions
Any further administrative roles as required
Maintain accurate reports and documents in line with the corporate document retention schedule
Coordinate all water management activities and sampling as per our Global Excellence Management System (GEMS) requirements
Implement and maintain the Occupational Hygiene programme applicable to the MODU
Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene condition of the hospital and its contents and in addition the security and control of the dangerous drugs (schedule 8) stock in accordance with GEMS and local legislation.
Perform other duties as required.

Bachelor of Health Science (Paramedicine) or equivalent
Current Certification (i.e. less than three (3) years) in:Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification or equivalent;
Advanced Life/Cardiac Support (ALS or ACLS) Certification or equivalent;
Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) training and certification or International Trauma Life Support (ITLS).
Possess a valid Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET) certification
Possess a valid Compressed Air - Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS) certification
Possess a valid Common Safety Training Program (CSTP) certification
Have and/or hold valid Australian Working Rights
Willing and able to be away from home in excess of 28 days
Preferred Previous offshore drilling experience
