Overall Purpose of the Role
The Project: Support a dynamic EMS system on the U.S. bases in Kuwait and is currently recruiting a Paramedic. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of an exceptional team who takes great pride in supporting our troops.

The Role:
The EMT/Paramedic will assume responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating direct and indirect medical care to patients in emergent situations. She/ he will competently function as a member of the interdisciplinary team to provide patient centered medical care in the clinical setting. She/he serves as an advocate for the patient and their family, and intercedes on their behalf by acting as a liaison for patients and their families with respect to their rights and beliefs.

Key Responsibilities

The EMT/Paramedic will utilize their expertise of evidenced based medical practice to manage unexpected and emergent situations, to mitigate and treat a variety of injuries and illnesses in a prompt and professional manner.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide 24/7 365 emergent EMS response on the site.
Provide paramedicine pre-hospital support to patients within the site, outside the site and during transfer to local higher levels of care.
Ambulance operations, EMS response and the subsequent support of the medical team within the clinic are the primary responsibilities
Assist medical providers with medical procedures and treatments as allowed within licensed scope of work.
Assessment and documentation of the patient’s vital signs, chief complaint, medical history, prescribed medications.
Report all changes in patient’s conditions to the medical provider.
Proactively and independently administer basic paramedic level care within the standing orders and SOPs without exceeding your licensed scope of care.,
Assist patients with basic care and activities of daily living, as needed.
Provides support and education to help patients make responsible health decisions
Maintains Area of Responsibility (AOR) supply inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies
Restocking EMS units once supplies are received As well as assisting other clinic operators with restocking,
Cross-train to work within in the clinics, emergency room, and inpatient units.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Experience Required:
Minimum of 1 year of paramedic experience in EMS, ER and/or Tactical Medicine or combination of all three is required.
Experience in a remote setting is preferred.

Education Required:
Hold a current unrestricted US license as a Paramedic; Possession of a Paramedic Level registry from the National Registry of EMT (required).
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or equivalent is required
Recent completion of Tactical Combat Casualty Care or comparable advanced trauma course or exceptional simulation training is desirable

Other Special Qualifications:
A valid passport is required and must be in your possession prior to deploying. To be considered for the position, you must have at least 18 months left on your passport before renewal. You must also maintain that passport during your stay.
