The Opportunity
Primarily based offshore and reporting operationally to the Offshore Manager and functionally to the QHSSE Manager - Pacific, Fugro are seeking an experienced HSE Coach / Medic to join our existing pool of Offshore/site basedHSE Coaches/Medics. This role will be casual and expected to work approximately 6 months of the upcoming 12 month period, can flex up and down depending on individuals preference. Rotations can be as short as a few days, or as long as a month offshore at a time. This position will provide support to Fugro projects/sites within the Asia and Pacific Region.
Capable of providing medical support to vessel/site personnel for a range of medical scenarios including simple first aid treatments to major trauma and diagnostic emergencies
Liaising with onshore medical services and practitioners
Determine, in consultation with telemedicine support if required, the need for the medical evacuation of a casualty
Coordinate and participate in emergency response training, drills and exercises
Maintain the vessel/site hospital and emergency response equipment
Lead the implementation of the Fugro Business Management System offshore / on site.
Providing HSE mentoring, coaching and advice to all personnel
Implementation of project specific health, safety and environmental initiatives
Carrying out audits, inspections and reviews of HSE management activities and standards
Effectively disseminating HSE related information, alerts and initiatives from Fugro and Clients during offshore/onshore projects
Coordinate vessel incident investigation and reporting process
Undertake audits and risk assessments
Delivering Inductions, training and awareness packages
Conduct workplace hygiene and health inspections to ensure compliance to the Fugro Business Management System and vessel hygiene standards
Provide advice on healthy lifestyle and wellbeing
Report all hazard observations, incidents and near misses in accordance with Fugro procedures
Ensure vessel compliance with the relevantVessel Safety Management System, relevant Statutory requirements and project specific Health, Safety, Environmental and Emergency Management Plans
About You
Your success in securing this role will require: Recognised Paramedical Science OR Registered Nurse Qualification
Minimum Cert IV Occupational Health and Safety or similar formal HSE Training
3-5 years' experience working in a HSE or Medic role on an offshore, mining or operational site
Current Advanced Life Support Qualification
Ability to pass a pre-employment medical
Formal training in incident investigation and Cert IV in training and assessing (preferred)
