Experiences :
Minimum 1 year of further education in relevant subjects like anesthesia.
Intensive care medicine or 1-year experience in handling medical emergencies.
Skill / Attributes / Competencies :Shipboard familiarization and safety critical competency assessment shall be satisfactorily completed.
Complete Security awareness training relevant for the position.
Previous experience of working as a Medic, preferably with experience on similar vessels in an operational environment.
Basic awareness of Flag State Maritime Law/Legislation appropriate to the role
Awareness of Ship Management 's SMS.
Able to demonstrate understanding of, experience in and knowledge of all aspects related to the key requirements of the role as described above.
Able to clearly interpret and understand operational instructions received from the Captain or Offshore Manager and to effectively act in accordance with them in conjunction with the relevant personnel/departments.

Main Responsibilities :
Ensuring that the Hospital, Occupational Health System and working environment are in accordance with SEB, Flag State and National requirements. Where appropriate, the Medic shall assist both the Captain and Offshore Manager and others onboard in matters regarding safety, health and environment. Confidential medical information will be reported to the relevant Regional Health Service onshore.
There may be special requirements for Medics assigned to Dive Support Vessels and these may have specific regional/legislative requirements.
In the event of conflict between any additional administrative or safety duty, health matters will be given priority. Any conflict regarding confidentiality will be referred to the Duty Doctor.
Be responsible for the hospital on behalf of the Captain, updating equipment and medicine in accordance with relevant external and internal requirements.
Have administrative responsibility for maintaining and producing COSHH, manual handling and workplace assessments.
Initiate and perform training of dedicated first aiders (including divers) to advanced first aid level as required.
Be familiar with all medical and first aid equipment onboard, and be trained in handling of illness/injuries.
Evaluate and, if necessary, initiate improvement of working conditions related to safety, health, environment and job satisfaction, in coordination with various department heads, Captain and OM.
Provide medical care onboard, including emergency and medical treatments, occupational health, the dispensing of medicines and reporting according to relevant procedures, and where applicable, contact the Duty Doctor.
