Job Description
Responsibilities:
A. Develops, designs, implements, oversees, and sustains a program of medical direction for Emergency Medical Technicians at the Basic, AEMT, and Paramedic level, in accordance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
B. Develops, designs, and implements a system of quality assurance and skill competency for those technicians under his medical direction.
C. Develops and maintains a set of clinical protocols followed by the technicians under his medical direction that conform to the relevant scope of practice as defined by the National Emergency Medical Services Scope of Practice.
D. Develops, designs, implements, and sustains a system of continuing medical education that meets required recertification requirements, is responsive to identified quality assurance issues, and maintains the cognitive knowledge base necessary to perform to protocol and industry standard.
Qualifications:
For bio approval, the OMD shall meet the following qualifications:
A. US citizen/TCN/LN, as specified in the task order.
B. Level three (3) English language proficiency.
C. Current American Board of Emergency Medicine in Emergency Medicine and sub-specialty ABEM certification or eligibility in Emergency Medical Services.
D. Must possess current state medical licensure.
Upon bio approval, and before beginning work on the contract, the OMD shall:
A. Obtain and maintain a personnel security clearance/public trust certification as identified in the task order.
B. Possess no impediments to traveling overseas to and within countries that are considered dangerous or unhealthy in general, or to the country or countries assigned in the applicable task order in specific.
