Main duties & responsibilities:
Strengthening and programme guidance in close coordination with URCS health department for the HVNS, First Aid, Mobile Health teams and additional components at the outlined URCS-branches
Monitoring, evaluation, and quality assurance
Close liaison with other medical stakeholders and health authorities.
Required competencies & skills:
Degree in public health, nursing or medicin
5 years of experience in humanitarian health programmes; RCRC experience is a strong asset
Excellent management skills
Ability to work independently and as a team member
Ability and agreement to adhere to the Red Cross Red Crescent Fundamental Principles
Ability to complete a thorough medical screening process 'working abroad under specific climate and health conditions'
International driving licence
Work permit in EU and Schengen member countries is a strong asset
Oral and written fluency in English is required, Russian and or Ukrainian are an asset.

Since the outbreak of war in Ukraine on 24 February 2022 a quarter of the population of Ukraine have been forced to flee their homes. As of today, more than 4 million refugees have fled Ukraine. Millions of people have been displaced internally within Ukraine. Some 13 million people are estimated to be stranded in affected areas or unable to leave. Cash and financial support, transportation, food, shelter, and access to health services are among the most pressing needs for displaced people.
GRC is supporting the Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) since many years. An operational base has been set up at Lviv regional branch, representation within URCS NHQ in Kyiv is envisaged once possible.
Home-Visiting Nursing Services (HVNS), First Aid and Mobil Health teams are pre-existing programmes and targeting the most vulnerable residents and internally displaced within the country. GRC will be supporting the URCS-branches at Lviv, Rivne and Volyn Oblasts with these programme activities and is looking at extending the support to additional oblasts. GRC is seeking an experienced Health Coordinator (m/f/d) to support URCS with the implementation and further development of the health activities.
