DRC is looking for qualified Paramedics to join our team. Duty station is Sievierodonetsk, the place of work can be Shchastia.
The purpose of the position is to ensure the good health and well-being of members of the humanitarian demining team, as well as provide emergency medical care and stabilize the condition of victims in the event of an accident at work.
The Paramedic will report directly to the DDG Supervisor.
The main task of the paramedic will be to provide first aid to victims of an accident at work, including first aid, stabilization of the victim's condition and monitoring his condition during the medical evacuation process. An accident could be a mine injury, an accident, or minor injuries in the workplace.
The main responsibilities of the Paramedic:
Accompanies groups of humanitarian demining personnel wherever they are in Ukraine.
Provides immediate stabilization of the victim in place in the event of an accident / incident and accompanies the victim to the designated medical facility.
Assess local health facilities prior to demining teams to develop casualty evacuation plans.
Maintains up-to-date contact information and location details of all eligible healthcare facilities in the DRC area of operation.
Responsible for the integrity and packaging of the Serious Injury Kits in accordance with DRC's standard operating procedures.
Conducts regular basic life support trainings for colleagues based on a standardized program developed by DRC.
Supports formal third party training with DRC Global Medic.
Supports colleagues with routine deployment tasks on a mobile team.
Mandatory requirements:
Recognized Medical Degree: Medical University Diploma with the qualifications of a Certified Paramedic or Physician.
Minimum 3 years of practical experience in medicine. Experience in emergency medical care is required. Experience with injuries, including injuries sustained in accidents, is encouraged.
Confident PC user (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Fluency in Ukrainian and Russian (speaking, reading and writing).
It is highly desirable, but not required:
Written and Spoken English
Experience in an ambulance brigade or military medic
Previous experience in conducting paramedic training
We offer:
Official employment (fixed-term employment contract) with a probation period of 3 months and the possibility of extension, subject to the availability of funding.
Working schedule: 4-5 weeks from Monday to Saturday / 1 week off. Accommodation on the basis provided by the employer.
