Required Qualifications and Experience:
Education
• Master’s degree in Medicine, Public Health or related field from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience; or
• University degree in the above fields with four years of relevant professional experience.
Experience
• Experience in the domain of global public health and migration health related issues, including in the context of humanitarian situations;
• Experience in the implementation and management of a large and complex health programme;
• Previous public health work experience in international organization is a strong advantage.
Skills
• Proven capacity and vision to develop and implement programmes in migration and health;
• Proven capacity to communicate to specialized audiences on migration and health topics;
• Proven skills in coordinating multidisciplinary teams and establishing and maintaining working relations with senior government officials, UN agencies, Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and Donors, including familiarity with the humanitarian cluster system;
• Proven writing skills to draft high quality concept notes, proposals and donor reports in both English and French.
Languages
IOM’s official languages are English, French, and Spanish.
External applicants for all positions in the Professional category are required to be proficient in
English and have at least a working knowledge of one additional UN Language (French, Spanish, Arabic, Russian or Chinese).
For all applicants, fluency in English and French is required (oral and written). Working knowledge of Arabic and/or Spanish is an advantage.
Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
