Offshore Medic (Crew Transfer Vessel)

Location:    Onboard a crew transfer vessel (CTV).

Contract

We have a current opportunity for an Offshore Medic to work on a long-term contract onboard a crew transfer vessel (CTV).

The position will be on a rotation basis: 28/28 days.

Main responsibilities:
Provide advanced life support and medical stabilization of injured or ill personnel on the scene
Administration of intravenous medication and other medication
Prepare and perform medical treatment during rescue and throughout medical evacuation to hospital.
The Medic should perform their work according to written medical emergency procedures in which they have proficiency. All procedures must comply with local laws and regulations.
The medical personnel must have qualifications and training to enter the WTG. The Medic / Nurse must have completed rescue training.
Remain physically fit and capable of carrying out the tasks
Responsible for ensuring adequate inventory of medical equipment and supplies, including reordering and management of drugs in regard to storage and kept within expiry dates
Responsible for keeping all Emergency Medical Equipment, and other materials, operational

In addition to the above duties, the MEDIC should be prepared to carry out additional duties as requested by the client which may include the following:
Carry out training and drills for Technician Advanced First Aid DevelMedicine
Actively audit both Client and Contractor documentation
Follow up on HSE reporting (using company Synergi tool)
Provide assistance to the SOV medic as required to carry out their duties
Provide clinics and programmes for welfare and wellbeing of offshore personnel
Following and implementing additional COVID related controls as per site procedures (i.e. PCR testing)
Help with management and Controls of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH)
Participate in Safety, Security and Sustainability (SSU) meetings, audits, walkdowns and workshops as required

Requirements:

Offshore Medic Training and Competence:
The minimum medical competence available for the Medic should be a HSE Medic with documented experience, competencies, and skills in pre-hospital emergency medicine.
A Medic / Nurse will have expertise and training that ensures that the patient will receive advanced medical treatment and monitoring during transportation, according to up-to-date best-practice professional recommendations and guidelines that is comparable to what the onshore medical emergency services provide.
The competence and qualifications of the Medic / Nurse must be regularly updated and certified to enable them to perform the job independently.

The Medic must hold the following certification in order to work onboard the vessel and access the offshore assets during an emergency scenario:
UK Oil & Gas Offshore Survival or GWO Sea Survival
In-date OGUK Offshore Medical (accompanied with V02 Chester step test)
STCW Elementary First Aid
STCW Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting
STCW Personal Survival Techniques
STCW Personal Safety and Social Responsibility
GWO / O&G Working at Height
GWO/ O&G Manual Handling
GWO / O&G Fire Awareness
GWO / O&G First Aid
GWO Advanced Rescue (or agreed equivalent with site), training will be provided if required
GWO Slinger Signaller (or agreed equivalent with site), training will be provided if required
