Position summary
Provide all platform personnel with competent health, safety and environmental advice and coaching regarding the requirements of the Neptune Integrated Management System and relevant statutory provisions.
To maintain a state of medical emergency preparedness and provide routine health care to all personnel onboard assigned installation/vessel/work site in accordance with Medic Standing Orders (MSO) and at all times abiding by a code of conduct and principles of medical confidentiality as per legislative requirements. Main duties & responsibilities
Ensure the provision of specialist HSEQ advice to management and workforce
Ensure all accidents, incidents, near misses and non-conformances are correctly reported, investigated and corrective actions identified
Ensure all relevant HSEQ information is effectively communicated to relevant personnel
Ensure the local HSEQ promotional and induction material is developed and delivered as required
Ensure clinical practice is undertaken in accordance with the employing companies policies
Maintain professional standards in accordance with current legislation and practice professional registration and continuing professional development
Work in partnership with other HSE and health professionals within the company and external client organizations / industry bodies, as applicable, to deliver a quality service and demonstrate personal commitment
Ensure patient confidentiality at all times
Identify and adopt creative and alternative approaches to problem-solving and encourage others to do the same
Openly question established practices and seek to identify continuous quality and cost optimization and improvement opportunities. The Health, Safety, Environmental, Medical and industrial hygiene roles and responsibilities for the HSE Advisor Medic shall include, but not necessarily be limited to the following:
Qualifications and Skills:
NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or Equivalent
Technical Member of ‘The Institute of Occupational Health & Safety' (Tech IOSH) - desirable
Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment Practitioner Member - desirable
Registered Nurse (Adult), with at least 3 years post-graduation experience within one or more of: A&E, ICU, HDU, OOH's Service, ANP, Medical or Surgical Assessment Unit, OR;
Royal Navy Medical Assistant (at Leading Hand or above), OR;
Royal Marines Medical Assistance (at Corporal or above), OR;
British Army Combat Medical Technician Class 1 (at Corporal or above), OR;
Royal Air Force Medical Assistant (at Corporal or above), OR;
Royal Fleet Auxiliary Service Medical Technician, OR;
HCPC Registered Paramedic with significant experience in one or more of: Rapid Response, Emergency Care Practitioner, OOH's Service
Experience in offshore oil and gas industry or other major hazard industries e.g. petrochemical refining, nuclear or power generation
Technical appreciation of oil and gas production
Supervisory management skills and experience desirable
Good understanding of HSE legislation, management systems and hazards
Strong facilitator of improvement and change management
Appreciation of Human Factors and Major Accident Hazards
Computer literacy
Strong team player
Excellent communications skills, written and verbal
