Foreign National Paramedic To Support Vaccination Teams - S.Africa
Positions are notional pending contract award.
Duties:
The primary responsibilities of the Registered Nurse include the following:
Sanitizes and maintains a clinically clean work area
Validates patient’s allergies and ensures no contraindication to COVID-19 vaccine
Ensure all patients have a copy of their immunizations upon discharge
Allows and provides education to patient questions regarding the vaccine, vaccination procedures, and potential side effects as needed
Reviews documentation and ensures all patient documents are signed prior to administration of vaccine
Disposes of sharps in appropriate receptacles
Documents vaccine administration per contract requirements
Instructs examinee to the observation and exit area for check out and monitoring following vaccine administration
Responsible for ensuring integrity and security of all privacy laws
Relies on research, cognitive reasoning and follow-up skills to complete tasks, fact-checking information to verify and document information, ensuring applicability, feasibility, and data integrity
Proactively multi-tasks on a variety of assignments; provides thorough work while maintaining a sense of urgency based on program needs
Maintains professionalism, ethical standards, discretion, candor, privacy and confidentiality of all company proprietary information, meetings, communication, and documents, including implementation of policies and procedures consistent with those of the organization
Accountable for and maintains a positive attitude and work culture with high motivation to achieve and excel in decision making, strong communication skills, and innovative problem-solving skills in line with organizational values
Maintains cold chain protocols when handling vaccine supplies.
Set up of mobile vaccination sites.
Packing of mobile vaccination sites when complete.
Performs duties in a Patient and Staff safe manner and follows the corporate safety policy
Performs other duties as assigned in accordance with contract requirements
Qualifications:
Must have completed a Paramedical Science Course of not less than 12 months leading to the award of a Diploma or Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Paramedical Science.
A minimum of three (3) years of continuous progressive clinical experience as a paramedical working in a pre-hospital care setting.
A current and valid Practicing License or Certificate as a Paramedic.
Must hold Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) or equivalent certification that are valid during contract period.
Strong organizational, analytical and written/verbal communication skills
Strong problem-solving skills to research and resolve inquiries and respond in a timely manner
Ability to work well with senior management and across functions to achieve business objectives
Self-starter who is action oriented and possesses a strong sense of urgency
Proficient in Microsoft applications, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Other Requirements:
Must hold a Passport valid for a term of no less than 13 months at time of deployment.
Must sign an International Assignment Agreement and are bound to the terms and conditions of the agreement.
Shall be proficient in the ability to speak, write and communicate in English.
Physician Requirements:
Must be confirmed by a medical examination to be “medically and dentally fit” in accordance with Medical Readiness Guidelines and Policies and/or as dictated by the Client.
No conditions that would prevent the wear of personal protective equipment; including protective mask, ballistic helmet, body armor and chemical/biological protective garments or conditions that would prevent the capability of donning, lifting or carrying of up to 70 lbs. of referenced gear while running to a bunker or protected area in the face of perceived or imminent danger.
Must be able to lift and carry packages and cases of equipment
The climate is desert-like, hot, and prone to dust storms.
