Search and Rescue Technician/Medic – Afghanistan

Location: Deploying to Afghanistan

The primary responsibilities of the Position include the following:

Immediate Assessment and treatment of traumatic life-threatening injury
Intravenous/Intraosseous access
Advance Airway Management
Advance Invasive Procedures
Knowledge of advanced assessment and diagnosis.
Experience in wound care to include anesthesia and suturing.
Endotracheal intubation
Familiarity with prolonged field care and pharmacology
Knowledge/administering of medications
Knowledge of advanced treatment modalities including chest tube thoracotomy, IV/IO access procedures, and blood transfusion protocols
Endotracheal intubation
Ability in assessing OCONUS regional/local medical treatment capabilities and developing and implementing MEDEVAC plans and procedures.
Understand the complexities of security, patrolling and light infantry tactics in relation to performance of Search & Rescue operations in a high-threat environment.
Medical support during aero medical evacuations.
Ability to carry and operate small weapon systems.
Documentation and maintenance of patient records.
Therapeutic procedures
Records and maintains patient information in accordance with standard protocols, and the Privacy Act.
Protects patients' privacy through confidentiality, infection control procedures, assuring consistent medication administration, and assuring proper storage and maintenance procedures for all equipment and supplies.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.



Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years’ Special Operational experience in one of the following U.S. Military Specialties: USAF Pararescueman (1T2XX), US Army Special Forces Medic (18-D), US Army Ranger Medic (68W-W1), U.S. Navy MARSOC Corpsman (SARC/SOIDC), U.S Navy SEAL Medic or similar roles.
Hold and maintain an active U.S State Paramedic License OR (NREMT-P) Certification as a Paramedic by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMTP) is required. A Higher Medical Degree with Board Certification (RN, BSN, PA-C, NP, MD, and DO) may also be accepted.
Must hold and maintain current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and must be proficient in Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC). Required to certify in TCCC or other advance trauma course within 12 months of hire (TCCC, ITLS or PHTLS).
