COOPI is looking for a Medical Coordinator in Niger
The objective of the position
Guarantee the quality of COOPI's health interventions in Niger, in general. Specifically, advise and provide technical support for the design, implementation and monitoring of health program activities.

Responsibilities
The medical coordinator will be based in the city of Niamey , with some trips to the health districts of the regions of Agadez, Diffa, Tillabéry and Tahoua.
The medical coordinator is responsible for the quality of care offered in COOPI's interventions in Niger. It ensures compliance with national and international protocols in force in Niger.
The main responsibilities of the medical coordinator will be:
Institutional relations
Represents COOPI at the health cluster level;
Represent COOPI in the field of health with other partners, health coordination bodies and the Ministry of Health;
Participate in the development and drafting of partnership agreements;
Participate in the framework of collaboration with partners and actors involved in the implementation of the project;
Participate in advocacy actions vis-à-vis local authorities, local humanitarian actors, donors.
Development / evaluation of response proposals to health emergencies
Ensures epidemiological monitoring in Niger by participating in coordination spaces;
In collaboration with the Operations Coordinator and the various Health project managers, is responsible for defining the health response in the event of an epidemic or emergency due to armed conflict;
Participate in the drafting of project proposals and reports for COOPI and donors.
Participate in the strategic management of health projects for the COOPI mission in Niger
Contributes to the definition of the operational strategy and its conduct according to the evolution of the health and humanitarian situation;
Develops new monitoring tools according to identified needs and improves existing ones;
Works in close collaboration with the RRM coordinator and the health project managers.
Manage and supervise HR under his supervision
Provide technical support to the entire medical team;
Participate in the recruitment of national health personnel;
Ensures the assessment of medical staff and pharmacists and identifies training needs;
Actively participates in the development and delivery of training for health project staff.
Monitor and analyze the health context
Monitors the collection and analyzes health and epidemiological data on a monthly basis for all health projects (re-reading MSA report, analysis of mobile clinical data);
Maintains the computer database of updated health data (and demographic), necessary for writing new projects and preparing reports (capitalization).
Ensure communication of health information
Ensures the feedback of information to the program coordinator;
Ensures the exchange of technical and medical information with the head office.
Ensure drug supply
Validation of orders by identification and quantification of needs;
Monitors supplies of medical equipment and drugs in accordance with internal and donor procedures;
Ensures the correspondence between the real needs of the partners and the expressed needs;
Checks the technical quality of medical purchases upon receipt of orders.
Candidate Profile
Essentials
Degree of doctor or paramedic with specialization in public health or equivalent;
Experience or training in health project management - nutrition and SMSPS;
Experience in planning, monitoring and evaluating health programs;
Excellent command of French , both oral and written.
Skills in the management of the health system of low income countries;
Good understanding of how the rapid response mechanism (RRM) works;
Knowledge of the supply chain for health products at national, regional and international level (suppliers, hospitals, health centers etc.);
Managerial skills (sense of efficiency and results);
Sense of organization and priority management;
Ability to work in a degraded security context.
Desirable
Ability in written (reporting) and oral communication;
Training experience;
Knowledge of the African context or specifically of the Sahel;
Previous experience with COOPI and knowledge of its procedures.
