Medical Support Officer – Emergency Response Team

Main Responsibilities

Complete standardized internal reporting as requested by Medical Team Lead or Team Leader.
Alert Team Lead in a timely manner if there are any impending shortages of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies to avoid stockouts.
Assist in evaluating all instruments and equipment are in working order.
Ensure that patients are accurately registered and recorded for reporting and case management.
Track daily patient data using tally sheets or other tools provided and submit patient data as required.
Monitor diagnostic trends and report to supervisor as needed.
Collect and analyze project / service data to inform and adjust project objectives and plans, strategic choices and quality of care.
Work with program staff, nurses and auxiliary staff (e.g. Community Health Workers) to provide both didactic and on-the-job training to build capacity and enhance their skills.
Track daily patient data using tally sheets or other tools provided.
Collaborate with other departments as needed to ensure smooth implementation and integration of services.
Support IPC, site management and patient flow as required.
Adhere to administrative directives with regards to work schedules, record keeping, patient communications, re-stocking of essential drugs, consumables and other medical supplies.


Qualifications:

Paramedic or Emergency Medical Technician with valid national and state licenses to practice, with 3-5 years of experience, of which 1-2 years should be of developing country experience or in low-resource settings or the equivalent combination of education and experience.


Experience:
Experience in overseas programs relating to primary health care, maternal and child health, reproductive health, HIV/AIDS preferable
