About the Job
The First Aid & Prehospital Care Field Officer supports in the implementation of the First Aid program and health activities in Somaliland. S/he carries out all the duties and responsibilities of the role in consultation with the respective field management, technical supervisor, health unit and wider support teams.
This is a national/resident position based in Hargeisa, Somaliland
Duties and Responsibilities
In liaison with interlocutors, identifies new areas of priority for First Aid Activities and develops assessments and analyses for the new projects
Supports in development of the First Aid training program content, structure and activity plans
Assists in the technical supervision, training of Emergency First Aid action teams, monitoring skills levels and retraining as required
Collaborates with SRCS to ensure a coherent standardised and quality programme is being presented to the participants
Monitors First Aid inventory levels and re orders when necessary
Collects and analyses statistical data and continuously updates the First Aid program database
Develops and maintains collaborative relationship with the various health interlocutors
Provides technical support to First Aid Training of Trainers (ToT) for new and refresher trainings
Provides reports on training, activity and response data
Minimum qualifications and required competencies
University degree in medical or paramedical discipline or a related field
At least 4 years professional experience in similar health activities
First Aid knowledge with a valid First Aid certificate
Strong sense of responsibility and autonomy
Excellent planning and organizational skills
Strong facilitation, presentation and report writing skills**
Ability to create a focused learning environment at all levels regardless of the audience
Good knowledge of the socio-cultural, economic and political environment of Somaliland**
Fluency in written and spoken English and Somali
Computer proficiency especially in MS Office suite
