The position is instrumental in supporting a large iron ore and infrastructure project proposed for the Pilbara region, encompassing integrated mining, processing, railroad and port operations. Currently the project is in the initial stages which is centered on multiple Channel Iron Deposits located south-west of Pannawonica
As a HSE Advisor you will be providing high level of site Safety and Medical support and assistance so that statutory obligations and company requirements in relation to health and safety are met. Effectively manage and implement the health & safety function execution activities across the business, ensuring implementation of the client company’s Safety Management System, standards, polices and procedure ensuring continual improvement.
Role and Responsibility:
Practice to develop and implement health and safety programs that best fit organisational and statutory requirement.
Ensure through the compliance registration that statutory obligations are consistently being met.
Apply continuous improvement methodology to all safety processes.
Assist in the management of regional exploration safety activities.
Assist in the development of the pragmatic solution for field-based management of risk / hazards.
When required, take a lead facilitator role in investigations of serious/significant incidents.
Monitor and participate in HSEC Inspections and audits using MyOSH (Safety management platform)
Coach others to meet quality standards.
Assist in the delivery of specific workplace training packages and assessment of competency of OHS procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Certificates IV in Health & Safety or related discipline combined with minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar role, preferably in an exploration, mining, project or military environment.
Certificates IV in Health Care or higher with minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar role, preferably in an Exploration, Mining.
Proven ability to support the implementation of Safety Management System in accordance with relevant standards and compliance requirement.
Minimum Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or Education, with experience in facilitating practice training.
Auditing quality and / or safety management system to international standards.
Proven experience administrating cloud-based safety or risk platforms is essential.
Experience with implementing risk management techniques.
Desirable; qualification and experience in providing emergency response.
Strong time management and organisational skills combined with proficient computer skills (MS Office Suite).
Proven experience working in harsh environments with limited resources.
