Paramedic , Iraq

Location: Australian Embassy , Baghdad , Iraq

Est. Start Date: TBC (Subject to further confirmation/successful induction/visa processing)
Duration Of Task: Open Ended
Duty Rotation: 8 weeks on, 4 weeks off subject to operational requirements.

Travel Pay:
Contractors are not entitled to pay while travelling. The The first pay is the day of arrival in the country of operations. The last day of pay is the day of departure from the country of operations.

Visa Requirements:
The company shall be responsible and liable for the multi-entry visa costs as required in order to deliver services. Any visa costs incurred by the contractor shall be reimbursed.

Package:
Company will provide the Independant Contractor with appropriate accomodation, insurance, flights and life support while on duty.

Food , Accomodation and General Expenses:
Company will provide the contractor with food , drink., transportation and accomodation as necessary whilst the contractor is engaged in a project.
If company is unable to provide thye Contractor with food,accomodation and transportation, except as set forth below for inbound and outbound travel to the project location,Company shall either provide a per diem at an agreed rate or reimburse to the contractor for any travelling, hotel and other expenses reasonably incurred by him in the proper performance of his duties under this agreement. In the case of the latter,the Contractor must provide Company with such vouchers and receipts or other evidence of actual payment of such expenses as Company may reasonably require. The Contractor shall seek the prior approval by Company for any individual expenses incured under this Agreement.

Flight Package:
Company will provide an economy class return ticket per rotation to the project location from hub airport as close as reasonably practicable to the Contractors declared home address.

The Contractor will be asked to declare their preferences for a primary,secondary and tertiary hub airport from the company hub list at the commencement of their engagement. Where possible and commercially acceptable, company will book travel to and from one of the preffered hubs.

The Contractor will be responsible for any travel arrangements between the hub airport and there home address. The Company will pay for any transfers from the airport near the project location or such other intermediate landing location to the Consultants accomodations at the project.


Role Requirements:
Aminimum of three (3) years experience in pre-hospital, remote and acute care.
Fluent in written and spoken English.
Computer literate and Competent in Microsoft Office. 
Nationally Registered as a Paramedic (min-Australian Diploma Level),Registered Nurse,Endorsed Enrolled Nurse,EMT-P or HCPC/HCPCSA or FVEYS equivalent professional body)
Current Basic and Advanced Life Support Certificate.
Completed Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) course or equivalent.
A minimum of 2 years experience in working in remote,complex or operational environments, E.g NGO,Military,Private Security,Isolated practice.
Working with children check and clearance (repatriations)
Health Planning experience.

Services
Services provided by the contractor shall be those typically expected for someone in the Position and include, but not be limited to provision of ops support to ensure the security of all client staff and other personnel who come under duty of care of Australian Embassy,Baghdad. Services the Contractor can expect to carry out, would include:


The Armed Protection Team (expatriate) Close Prootection Officers provide mobile armed protection to Authority personnel and visitors at Australian Embassy Baghdad. The CPO's will provide thses services accordance with contractual obligations, international and local laws,RuF and SOPs . They will assist the Team Leaders to execute the day to day assigned tasks included armourd vehicle driving.They will ensure a high standard of welfare . morale and discipline and professional operational relationship with the client.They will also provide immediate emergency medical support (Trauma) and will provide support in case of medvac.

The CP Operator is at the front end of the delivery of this operation. The role requires individuals who are suitably experienced and qualified in firearms and armoured vehicle driving, they must be able to follow instructions clearly but also able to make command decisions on the spot in order to achieve the aims of the organization.

Provide Close Protection in accordance with SOPs for all clients as directed during Ops briefs or other or other "Quick Orders" briefs given by TL.
Safeguard all issued equipment in accordance with SOPs and ensure that any damages or deficiences are brought to the attention of the chain of command without delay.
Conduct a daily check of weapons systems and ammunition issued and ensure that all weapons systems are properly secured at all times.
Maintain all personal issue equipment including vehicles.weapons.radios etc in accordance with manufacturers instructions and first parade sheets etc.
Ensure that arrival times on task are sufficiently early to attend to any last minute delays or briefings.
Maintain a professionaloperational relationship with the clients.
Ensure that the Watchkeeper is kept informed at all times of all vehicle movements.
Be in possession of up to date code sheets/mapping and ensure that any loss of these sheets is reported to the Watchkeeper without delay.
Attend daily team intelligence updates and read intelligence summary.
Maintain an acceptable level of physical fitness.
Attend all organized training sessions.

In addition of that to a normal CP Operator the Paramedic will be responsible for and provide immediate medical life support in case of incident or accident.

Execute any other medical tasks as deemed appropriate by the SPM/SOM/AEB Registered Nurse.
To provide immediate emergency medical support to personnel under your responsibility.
If required liase and arrange evacuation to the next level of medical care.
Provide a detailed handover of any patient/casualities to the next level of care.
Ensure all medical equipment and supplies are maintained , serviced and in date.
Conduct the following management check in accordance with the returns and equipment check matrix (Annex A section 2)
In addition of that to a normal CP Operator the Paramedic will be responsible for and provide immediate medical life support in case of incident or accident.
Update medical venue assessements at end of each mission.

1) Weekly (Fri) 100% items check

2) Monthly (01-31 of the month ) 100% equipment table check, submitted to the Opsman,Doctor and Medical Advisor.

3)Quarterly (once per rotation) 100% Opsman equipment and stores check.

Keep up to date with all professional qualifications, clinical guidesline,treatment advancements and work within medical SOPs.
Conduct CP operations under the direction of the CPTL and OSM in compliance with the Host Nations rules and regulations, RM SOPs, contractual obligations and all applicable EHS Safety Management Systems (SMS).
They will also provide immediate emergency medical support and will provide support in case of medvac.
Assist the CPTL in gathering and analysing information required for the planning rehearsal and safe execution of a CPT mission.
Liase / meet with the client in an appropriate manner when instructed by the Opsman.
Report all incidents according to the host nation rules and regulations,RM SOPs , and contractual obligations.
Execute any other tasks commensurate to the CPO roles as deemed appropriate by the Opsman.
Undertaking any other direction or reasonable request given by appropriate Management team in accordance with GW Standard Operating Procedures and Guidelines.
