SOSi is seeking an Operating Room Nurse/Medical Surgical Nurse Lead to join a large medical support services program in Iraq supporting our U.S. Government customer. The Operating Room/Medical Surgical Nurse Lead will facilitate providing professional nursing care to patients undergoing surgery.
Responsibilities
Provides professional nursing care to patients undergoing surgery
Prepares and maintains operating room for all surgical procedures
Circulates and scrubs for surgical procedures
Responds to surgical emergencies such as cardiac, pulmonary, or respiratory failure and hemorrhage
Provides health promotion and basic medical care to patients with various medical and surgical diagnoses
Monitors vital signs
Practices their specialty based on demand of their work settings
Promotes and Restores patient health by completing the nursing process
Collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary professional staffs
Provides physical and psychological support for patients, friends and families
Supervises assigned team members
Reinforces patient understanding of disease, medications, and self-care skills and answering questions
Assures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards
Measures health outcomes against patient care goals and standards
Makes or recommends necessary adjustments
Follows hospital and nursing division’s philosophies and standards of care set by state board of nursing
State Nurse Practice Act, and other governing agency regulations .
Qualifications
Required and able to obtain Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT)
Bachelors' degree in Nursing
Current unrestricted U.S. state license as a Registered Nurse
Membership in the Nursing Specialty professional association is desirable
Two years of experience as a Registered Nurse is required
Maintain current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
All health care providers and medical support staff must have recent clinical experience in patient care for at least six months out of the past year
Preferred Qualifications
Fluency in a foreign language is desirable, but not required
Working Conditions
Living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable
Long Hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions
Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse condition
