Required Qualifications and Experience:
Education
• University degree in Medicine from an accredited academic institution1 with at least seven
years of professional experience; or
• University degree in Medicine from an accredited academic institution plus Master’s Degree in
Epidemiology or other related fields from an accredited academic institution1 with five years of
Experience
• Experience in coordination of communicable disease outbreak response activities,
humanitarian emergencies at international level;
• Experience in evaluating health programmers and protocols will be an added value;
• Operational and field experience in health-related issues in migration and/or displaced
persons, Programme development, outbreak response, migration health, including
conceptualization, analysis and implementation of Programme; International public health and
resource mobilization;
• Previous experience in international organization is required.
Skills
• Knowledge of structures and function of national and international health agencies, donors and
organizations;
• Excellent computer skills, especially in MS Office applications such as MS Word, MS Excel,
MS Access, Internet Explorer.
Languages
IOM’s official languages are English, French, and Spanish.
For this position, fluency in English is required (oral and written). Working knowledge of Arabic,
French, and/or Spanish is an advantage.
Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process,
which may include written and/or oral assessments.
Notes
This position is based in Tunis, Tunisia; with possible relocation to Libya if and when the
situation is conducive.
