Overview
SOSi is seeking aParamedic for our current contract located on Camp Taji, Iraq.
Responsibilities
Performs emergency and non-emergency medical treatment to include but not limited to, patient assessment, checking vital signs, CPR, resuscitative trauma care, managing respiratory, trauma, medical and cardiac emergencies.
Maintains common emergency equipment, such as backboards, suction devices, splints, oxygen delivery systems, and stretchers
Administers medications orally and intravenously, interprets electrocardiograms (EKGs), perform endotracheal intubations, and uses monitors and other complex equipment.
Works as a member of a team to support Health care providers from multiple Nations achieve the best patient care as well as outcome in a Clinic setting.
Administers post-operative care
Documenting care delivered and follow up care required
Operate and maintain Advanced Life Support (ALS) Ambulance capability IAW site requirements.
Qualifications
Must have completed an approved Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) course, and certified as a Paramedic with the National Registry or holding a current unrestricted state license in the U.S.
Minimum one years of experience in an ER and/or ICU/CCU environment is required
Minimum one years of experience in an austere high threat environment is required.
High School diploma, GED, or equivalent education required
Support staff must have recent clinical experience in patient care for at least six months out of the past year
Ability to meet certain pre-deployment medical/dental screening requirements
Hold current BLS and ACLS certification
Preferred Qualifications
Recent completion of Tactical Combat Casualty Care or comparable advanced trauma course or exceptional simulation training is desirable
Experience as a Combat Medic or Navy Corpsman is desirable
Hold a current Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) that has been recognized as meeting or exceeding any of the EVOC standards set by ANHTSA, IACP or IADLEST is desired.
Fluency in a foreign language is desirable, but not required
Working Conditions
Willingness to live and work under environmental and other conditions that may be uncomfortable at times
Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions
Requires periods of non-traditional hours including consecutive nights or weekends when necessary
May require ability to lift/and or move objects or packages of up to 25 lbs.
