TYPE OF POST
Position of activity manager. The project referent doctor coordinates the medical activities of the project and is the referent of the medical team.
FUNCTIONAL LINKS AND
HIERARCHICS
· He reports to the project coordinator (hierarchical referent) and to the medical coordinator (technical referent).
· He supervises those responsible for medical activities.
MAIN MISSIONS AND ACTIVITIES
Activity monitoring and objectives
· Describes and analyzes his project in his environment:
o is responsible for the analysis of medical data,
o is responsible for writing the medical reports of the project.
· Identifies the other medical players (health authorities, NGOs, other, etc.) and monitors the development of their activities.
· Identifies the health structures in the area, their capacities and possible needs.
· Participate in discussions on project management and the definition of objectives.
· Participate in monitoring the medical situation of the populations concerned by the project as well as in exploratory missions and propose new strategies if necessary.
Implementation of programs
· Is the guarantor of the quality of medical care for patients in the health facility (s).
· Ensures, for all of its team, respect for medical confidentiality and good information to patients about their illness and their treatment.
· Is the guarantor of compliance with treatment protocols and the rational use of drugs.
· Discusses with his team medical errors and sends the information back to the medical coordinator.
· Provide medical support in services.
· Identifies specialized referral health structures.
· Takes referral decisions for patients in collaboration with the medical coordinator.
· Organizes follow-up of referred patients.
In collaboration with the head of the field pharmacy:
· Is responsible for monitoring consumption and medical stocks.
· Defines the needs of his project and participates in the development of medical orders based on consumption.
· Organizes the storage, inventory and management of the operational medical library.
Human Resource Management
3.1. Composition of the teams.
· Defines the positions required with regard to his activity and establishes the position profiles.
· Organizes the recruitment of staff in their activity (with the support of the HR coordinator).
· Organizes with the activity managers the replacement of the absent personnel.
3.2. Team management
· Organizes and supervises the work of the members of his team.
· Leads and organizes regular team meetings.
· Organizes the circulation of information within its team.
· Promotes the transmission of information within the medical team (changes in protocols, evolution of techniques ...).
· Organizes archiving.
· Identifies potentials within the project staff.
· Exercise vigilance and inform the medical coordinator in the event of a medical error.
3.3. Individual assessments.
· Performs at least once a year the individual assessments of the activity managers in his charge and delegates the achievement of the assessments of the other staff.
3.4. Continuing education
· Defines the training needs of his team in line with the objectives of the project.
· Participates in the training of the members of his team by support in the work.
3.5. Administrative framework
· Respect the internal regulations and all other HR policies and documents in force, in particular, in the organization of working time.
· Refer or request advice from the field administration manager if necessary.
National and international medical follow-up
· Ensures, supervises (and performs if necessary) medical consultations for international, national staff and their dependents.
· Refer these patients, if necessary, for investigations and / or hospitalization in the structures identified by him or with the medical coordinator.
· Ensures the follow-up of hospitalized staff: diagnosis, treatment, evolution and discharge in collaboration with the medical coordinator
EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS
Training
· Doctor’s degree.
Experience
· War context experience, bush working conditions.
· A minimum year of experience is required in a similar position.
Languages
· Fluency in French
· Fluency in Arabic is a plus
· English is an asset
CONDITIONS
Duration of contract : 4 months, CDD renewable
Post taking : As soon as possible
Salary : according to experience + perdiem.
ALIMA takes care of:
· Travel costs between the expatriate's country of origin and the place of mission
· Accommodation costs
· Medical cover from the first day of the contract to one month after the date of departure from the country of mission for the employee and his dependents
· Evacuation for the employee and his assigns
