Job Description
The SAR Technician (ST) shall be utilized to provide search and rescue, medical, security, and quick reaction force to support assigned program. The SAR Technician (ST) will integrate with the team, meet all flight/training standards, and will follow all team policies and procedures as directed by the SAR Technician Lead.
This position is based in Afghanistan.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
Must have a minimum of 5 years’ Team experience in the following U.S. Military Specialties: USAF Pararescueman (1T2XX), US Army Special Forces Medic (18-D), US Army Ranger Medic (68W-W1), U.S. Navy MARSOC Corpsman (SARC/SOIDC), U.S Navy SEAL Medic.
Requirements:
High School diploma, GED or equivalent education required.
Certified as a Paramedic by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT-P) or a State Paramedic is required. A Higher Medical Degree with Board Certification (RN, BSN,PA-C,NP, MD, and DO) may also be accepted.
CHS will assist in obtaining a State Paramedic License as required.
Must hold and maintain current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
Completion of other Critical Care Training course and certification desirable.
Other Requirements:
Must have a valid, current U.S. Driver’s License
Must have a current U.S. Passport.
Ability to obtain a Defense Security Services clearance at a level of Secret is required.
Will sign Foreign Service Agreement (FSA) and is bound to the terms and conditions of the FSA.
Shall be proficient in the ability to speak, write and communicate in English.
Travel to and between CONUS and OCONUS locations is required.
Performs duties in a safe manner. Follows the corporate safety policy.
Participates and supports safety meetings, training and goals.
Ensures safe operating conditions within area of responsibility.
Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
Physical Requirements:
No conditions that would prevent the wear of personal protective equipment; including protective mask, ballistic helmet, body armor and chemical/biological protective garments or conditions that would prevent the capability of donning, lifting or carrying of up to 70 lbs. of referenced gear while running to a bunker or protected area in the face of perceived or imminent danger.
Capable of responding to a wide variety of operational circumstances, under extreme weather conditions, within a hostile environment.
May be exposed to extreme noise from aircraft, hostile fire, and other acts of aggression associated with this region.
May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and work in close proximity to moving mechanical parts, aircraft, and vehicles.
Required to kneel, bend, sit and lift heavy objects for extended periods of time.
Must be confirmed by a medical examination to be “medically and dentally fit” in accordance CHS Medical Readiness Guidelines and Policies and/or as dictated by the Client.
Complete and pass a Class III Flying Duty Medical Examination.
Will be required to work and live in a potentially hostile environment, at remote locations, and under austere conditions.
Must attend and successfully complete weapons qualification, security training, psychological assessment and High Threat - Counter-terrorism training prior to deployment.
