Under the supervision of the Chief of Operations, the duties and responsibilities of the incumbent are as follows:
Provide Emergency Trauma Bag (ETB), Individual First Aid Kit (IFAK), and Basic & Advance First Aid training to UN, INGO, NGO and MA organizations personnel to improve capacity;
Provide support in the delivery of explosive hazard awareness courses for all operating humanitarian workers that request assistance;
Act as the coordination focal point with Health Cluster partners and assisting in the liaison with Health Cluster organizations as needed;
Maintain an up-to-date Medical Evacuation and Mass Casualty Evacuation Plans;
Maintain an up-to-date list of medical facilities, capacities and response plans
supporting mine action for Syria Programme;
Review and conduct quality assurance of humanitarian partners’ medical standard operating procedures and casualty evacuation plans to ensure they are fit for purpose;
Support the establishment of offices and advising on medical matters, with particular regard to developing victim assistance initiatives and programming;
To be deployed as part the UNMAS technical advisory teams;
Identify needs and promote a culture of medical awareness and preparedness.
