The Opportunity:
Are you an energetic Paramedic / Firefighter who enjoys all duties pertaining to fire, rescue, medical, emergency and environmental hazards? We have a role for you! As a Paramedic / Firefighter you will contribute to the safe and efficient operation of the Horizon Oil Sands site along with all employees and contractors. Canadian Natural will provide additional fire training as the member progresses.
Key Accountabilities:
Ensure effective emergency response by providing professional application of skills and techniques at the emergency scene
Assist in maintaining and inspecting fire apparatus and equipment
Perform fire code inspections of site facility infrastructure and site pre-fire planning
Provide leadership and training to emergency response team members
Provide input into the effectiveness of the emergency response team

Job location: Fort McMurray, Alberta - Horizon Oil Sands site
Relocation to Calgary, Edmonton or Fort McMurray
Company sponsored Fly-In/Fly-Out Program with charter flights from Calgary or Edmonton
Shift schedule: 7x7 – Wednesday to Tuesday
This is a safety sensitive position
Competitive salary, stock options, stock savings plan and benefits
Skills & Qualifications:
Typically 5+ years of paramedic experience as a registered Advance Care Paramedic as well as being registered with the Alberta College of Paramedics
Paramedic with firefighter qualification preferred
Completion of NFPA 1001 is an asset
Valid class 2/3 and 4 with Q endorsement driver’s license
Minimum standard of physical fitness is applicable for this role
